8 hours is 12 times the expected death timeframe.

Nothing is guaranteed. Not life. Not death.

I understand what you mean though.

I think someone needs to "test" a small dose of SN for this to happen. If not then they will certainly die in 1-4 hours.

As the SN is taking effect your body is also working hard to convert hemoglobin back into your blood. SN will overwhelm your body and is lethal but it takes a bit due to your body literally fighting to stay alive.

I think of it like this; when a person takes SN the ability of your blood to carry oxygen is not just shut off like turning off the kitchen faucet. It's more like you are slowly and constantly turning the faucet lower and lower. For lack of a better term, if SN takes out 3 hemoglobin your body might convert 1 hemoglobin back.
Also, your body takes drastic measures. It's makes you pass out. When your unconscious you aren't exerting yourself so the body can conserve oxygen for parts that need it the most. You begin to breathe harder and faster while your heartbeat increases, your body trying to compensate for less oxygen in the blood.
It's like a tug of war between your body and the SN. SN takes 3 and your body replaces 1. It pro-longs your life but inevitable the SN, if taken in correct dosage, will win.

This might not be the ideal way to go after all. I need it to be fast so I can't be "saved". Crap.....

I really don't want to spend another year alive.

That is why so many people do it at bed time. In general they have a good 8-10 hours of noone bothering them and letting them sleep. After that long it is too late.

Right. My only worry is doing it and having some idiot stumble upon me and try to "save" me, even in the forest/on the beach/on some deserted field. That would be my luck.

I'm not sure where you got 8 hours, not that I know differently. I do know that how long something you've ingested takes is affected by a whole slew of different factors, from weight, age, overall health, how fast you ingested it, how hydrated you are, and of course how much (and how concentrated, etc.) you took.

Testing I think is pointless, and is probably more of a hesitation mark thing than anything else. Were it me, I either go or I don't, because anything in between is likely to land me where I don't want to go. That, and I hate barfing…

Can we potentiate SN with beta blocker such as propranolol to make it faster?

I assume fasting as per Stan's guide makes the SN absorb faster, much like almost any other substance on an empty stomach.
