Discussion How long is a SN drink effective/good for?

I'll elaborate on the title,

let's say you've dissolved the SN you need (or even a little more) in the water necessary for your dose, you did it all correctly, and so on. Now you poor it into a bottle and store it well until the day you'll drink it on. Will it stay just as effective the day you drink it? How long will it stay effective for? You're still fasting 8 - 12+ hours before you drink the a few days old SN drink too.

I am aware it's best to drink it right after mixing it, but I'm just deadly curious (get it), and just to know in case I'll need to do that.

I know this isn't what you're asking, but it would be a much better idea to just not mix it up until you're ready to use it. Have no idea how long it will last. Personally, I'd rather not take that chance. Whatever someone tells you is going to be anecdotal, anyway, most likely, or just a guess. Who would know this unless they sent it off to a lab for analysis?

Let me rephrase your question. How long before oxygen gets into the drink and converts much of the nitrite to nitrate? My guess - and I'm not a chemist though I am a scientist - is that it will be OK for a few minutes but not for a few hours. If you store it immediately in a bottle that is sealed against air (and the drink fills it to the top so that there is no air space) it might last until the next day, though even then you would lose some of the nitrite to the oxygen that is already dissolved in the water.

I really don't like the idea of making an SN solution and not using it almost immediately. It's asking for trouble. If you are not ready to use it as a drink, keep the SN powder dry until you plan to use it.
