I'm all for it, but somebody has to start actually directly calling them anti-choicers first whether it's in their spaces or the next time a big article comes out and brings in their attention.
Instant agreement. This is now the new term I'll be using and spreading. If we all add this to our vocab it's bound to change a bit of the impression of this forum. We should refer to our pro-life friends as anti-choice.
No I don't blame anyone for the want or need around labels but they have been used against people on here and will continue to be, in addition, labelling a group a group of people a certain thing because they have different viewpoints than yours is invalidating individualityThere's just no satisfying you, is there? Now I'm a maker of unhelpful labels.
Believe it or not, I've said stuff like this on more than one occasion & the members who know me know it:
I regard such people as being pro-schadenfreude.We should refer to our pro-life friends as anti-choice.

Also I think you are quite possibly one of the most genuine and compassionate people on here
I would call you a complete twat to try and help but you would probably see right through it. I did try 24hrs of being a complete dick and being only negative but ultimately I couldn't change my spots and still care for others, so back to normal me again.Yeah, but it's unavoidable... It's human nature. We can't stop doing it because it's an unconscious process. If our deeply flawed primate brains were to stop categorizing/labeling shit, they'd get overwhelmed & blow up...
My brain isn't good at handling compliments that aren't superficial.Thank you, you're genuine too & more compassionate than me.
This new label is also not without its own ambiguity. Is someone who thinks suicide is the only solution to a given problem anti-choice?I don't think we are a 'we' to be honest.
I think most of us are here because we feel suicidal the rest is down to the individuals and a belief in choice/autonomy. The rest of the stuff is pretty diverse which isn't a bad thing and the extremes are generally outweighed by general group consensus and a well thought out and implemented set of rules.

For all the handwringing devoted to "pro-lifers" on this forum, it seems there are maybe several commenters out of hundreds who post even somewhat regularly who arguably fit the description.
Yeah, it is a better term. Pro-life is even more ambiguous and already has a generally accepted use re abortion in the states (a silly use in its own right, given that abortion opponents tend to glorify the military and gun ownership and support the death penalty). Just was agreeing with cambrai33 that no label is all that useful. And agree with you that talk of "pro-lifers" here is mainly meaningless froth. My own view is it's a better term to use *on here* at any rate because I'd expect nobody here would fall into an "anti-choice" category, whilst the repeated teeth gnashing at "pro lifers" seems to extend to anybody who doesn't think they should have a personal physician available to kill them on demand.
Tbqh for all the chat about "pro lifers" on here much of if is meaningless froth, actual pro lifers / anti choicers ultimately don't fucking matter to me, there is literally nobody who can prevent me from killing myself at any time of my choosing other than myself, and again this is my own view but l doubt many people at that point of suicide are too bothered about fighting a vague political battle against online dark forces.
I get why there's a reaction to the NYT piece etc and an obvious concern about these people infiltrating the site but this is more about defending this website from people who want it erased but the reality is this site needs defending so people can acquire N, not because it is a site housing a political movement seeking to win over the public with a coherent political argument.
Perhaps the eros inclined ones would work too.We should refer to our pro-life friends as anti-choice.
