Maybe trying to wrap their mind around why someone would commit suicide makes them uncomfortable so they just don't try to understand. Or because they see suicide as wrong they don't bother trying to understand. Like when you see people trying to understand why someone would commit a crime and there's some people like who cares why they did it what they did was wrong. I think they have that same mentality towards suicide.
And the name you use outs you as pretentious among other things. We're done here.

Why do such people do that? What does it matter to them that it actually happened?
Definitely because they don't want to admit they did something wrong. So they pretend nothing ever happened. I think it's hard for anyone to admit they're a terrible person who caused someone innocent harm. They don't want to take responsibility for their mistakes so they try to sweep them under the rug.

The person I'm referring to didn't abuse me. He's a member of my adoptive family and has no relation to the person who abused me. His downplaying of what happened to me and it's effects don't make sense.

Food for thought: Aren't we doing the same to them now? Aren't we judging them?

Recently I got judged by two members here and got labelled "selfish", "good for nothing" and "a liar"-all untrue. So even us, people who are struggling, judge others harshly.

I guess civilization is messed up.

If they had to live with severe mental illness, financial worries, major family deaths, physical accidents they might want to retract on their previous judgements towards 'suicidal' people.

Why is it human nature to judge beyond right and wrong?

they can't comprehend what ails us so bad for us to take such "drastic" measures. Most of them feel as if depression or anxiety is situational rather than something you are stuck with. Its hard to have a tunnel vision in situations when you yourself feels like the problem. They don't understand it because they've never felt it.
