  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

It is all a foolish, petty game to trap those who have awakened to the possibility of an escape.

The truth is that every man, woman and living thing will die at some point. Why prolong a miserable life only for death to be the end result anyway? It is nothing short of tyranny in all honesty.

They will try to stop you if you are trying to jump off a building or something like that. Once I ended up in the hospital after an overdose and I was doing really bad. At that point I was about to commit myself as i still believed in the shitty system. Guess what? They refused to take me because they were done with me and just sent me home.

At this point there are mental health workers who know I will kill myself at some point and no one is going to try and stop me. As long as I do not do anything dumb like standing on some high building wanting to jump. I had my last appointment with my therapist from the hospital today. I feel really sad about that, I love her a lot and I will miss her a lot. I'm drunk and I literally send her some goodbye message like 30 minutes ago. No one's gonna care. When I was just desperate and trying to get help by doing weird suicidal shit it honestly was hard that people responded this way. But in the last year or so I really appreciated it. It saved me many trips to the psych ward for sure.
The same happened to me. Also overdosed. The first time, they kept me 4 or 5 days to know what to do with me and they sent me in a high care service where I had an appointment every week. Then, I started my therapy, which ended also last week btw ;). Have the feeling that when you have a therapy or see already someone, they will not do more even if you overdose again. The number of bed is so low here. In france, if I do that, I will end in a ward for at least 1 month. Here, it's 1 day... So, I do it more often.

I was also feeling sad last week after and even before the last appointment with my therapist. I cried a lot... and often think of her. I kind of feel alone again and worried to feel bad again because I have nobody to talk to.
I can relate to your distress...
Take care, HUG!

Unfortunately, that's the job of these mental health workers. They are just another cog in this capitalist machine. I don't believe that many of them went through the mental pain and anguish that those of us here have experienced.

Not to mention the pernicious issue that causes people to feel the need to argue with silly little cliches as if that's even necessary. Anyone who uses cliches better have a deep understanding of the concepts of heuristics, epistemology, decision making, etc that underlays such sentiments, otherwise it's a frivolous non-argument devoid of rational basis; a facade that abuses the pervasive travesty of ordinary understanding of reason and--whoa that was a little too arrogant; point is fuck cliches and parables

Well said. And it's funny you say that because a lot of my bad experiences with these things comes from the cultish groups of Alcoholics Anonymous that I've gone to; and also my very pro-Empowerment therapist follows the Dutch guru cult leader guy who thinks he's enlightened but reminds me of that other cult leader who started nexus and was branding women like cattle. I just can't take her seriously anymore, the transference has worn off, and I can no longer tolerate or look past the problematic epistemological naïveté inherent to psychotherapy and it's hypocritical and erroneous use of cognitive behavioral therapy in a very infantilizing rules-for-thee-not-for-me expert/non-expert dichotomy reinforcing approach to the psychologically subjugating reprogramming that is ultimately what therapy is; in order to facilitate increased productivity and vocational capacity; these kinds of processes working well for those who are comfortable with a kind of intellectual and ideological servility, but not working well for more authentic, creative, &or open types who value freedom and autonomy and reject societal servility.
A.A. is the last place I'd expect to hear of cult-like behaviour. Right on about the therapies; they may as well just say "You're a deviant. Just tow the line and stop overthinking".

I agree completely. You know what the problem is? People who try to convince you there's a meaning in life are either religious, or haven't been through unbearable physical or mental anguish. People choose to believe in a fiction, because it's way too painful to admit their suffering is for nothing, and there's inherently no meaning for all the horrible things that happen everyday.
This is so true and I agree with all of it- especially about the people who haven't experienced the living hell that the rest of us have to contend with daily. People telling me to keep my chin up because life is hard for everyone- just makes it worse for myself…

I don't know if they try to convince you that there is a meaning in life. But without a meaning in your life which can be way different from person to person, there is no reason to be here.
This is a way to say, find an activity, hobbies, interests, passion, that could make your life a bit lighter (easier to handle for you) despite that I validate you are feeling bad deeply inside.
