Like this man who survived from jumping off the golden gate bridge. He instantly regretted the second he jumped off. I don't understand... I never felt regret after my suicide attempt. I felt disappointed that my method didn't work

The only thing I regret is being stupid about it and now getting loads of bills from being saved. Ya. This is my regret. Not the other way around that I regret trying or found loads of things to live for. Every single day I'm reminded that I didn't die and I regret I didn't have the foresight to hide better. I blame the vodka. It wasn't a gesture. I wanted to be done. And now I'm stuck. So yeah, I understand what you are saying.

i never understood this either but the media only talks about the people that do regret it and not the people that dont. I guess you arent important unless you choose life after the act. In reality tho i think it makes things worse. because people that dont understand suicide think this how ALL suicidal people feel. No one talks about the other side. This makes people assume they are doing it for attention, and makes them think that their reasons weren't valid because after they tried to die, they decided to live.

or the classic "suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem" and basically made this the slogan for pro life. which doesnt apply to 80% (if not more) suicidal people. people make all these claims about mental health but it was approached all wrong. now no one understands it and suicidal people are alot of the times left frustrated and not willing to talk even more than they were before.
