Why can’t I be happy ? Why do I always compare myself to other people?

I earn quite well today, three years ago my salary was 1/3 of what it is today. So I have made quite some progress. But I am so unhappy. I follow these super rich people on social media who own Land Rover and they party so often and fine dine etc. vacation abroad,
I know one should not compare oneself with others but my stupid mind is so fucked up that it always does . Even the therapist told me to compare myself with myself and not others.
I just don't like my life.

I hate my life and I feel miserable too comparing with others. I think everybody does, even your therapist. That's human nature.
Modern society just sucks. It starts in school when your parents ask you to be the best.

My parents demanded the best from me and I did give my best but they never gave their best. I wish I was born into another family.

Unfortunately family destroys a lot of people (I'm one of those too)

Sadly, comparison is a popular destroyer of joy, each time you achieve something but compare it to those that live on other level or the people that are theorethically more talented it's almost guaranteed to take your smile away. There's no other way to just try to fight back this habit, trying to live your own pace and your own world, looking at what you can possibly do to improve it - it is better than spending time looking at those guys earning 6 figures that party every other week.
It sure is rough, I relate since I also was born into a family where I was always compared, but luckily my irls weren't always better than me, so I was getting by.
