I asked me this question. I think there are two suicide forums I heard of and there is a subreddit.
The first one was a Switzerland suicide forum but I think there are barely any members anymore.
Then there is a German one. I only heard of it some months ago. I don't know much of it.
I think I like this forum so much because I was always interested to talk to people from all over the world. And to learn from them. Listening to different opinions etc. When I was a child and got internet access I was so excited being able to talk to people from all over the world.
I am not really into travelling. It costs so much money and I find it stressful. And I can pretend I would care for the environment when I say I never fly during vacation. Lol.
But I like interactions with people from other countries. I am anxious the other ones would not be secure. For example more Germans more possibilities to getting doxxed I assume. I never was on the website. But someone wrote there is way less traffic than on SS. I like when I see people interact with my posts. I invest a lot of energy and time and with that I know it is not wasted.
Moreover despite the fact I like my country being surrounded only by Germans sounds lame. With a higher diversity you can learn more about the world. I hope to have less of a bias with this knowledge. I like that I train my English on here and writing much German could make it easier to identify me due to the idiosyncrasy of my language.
Moreover I like a lot of members here. I would be sad to leave them. I feel supported and accepted on here. I have good memoris which I connect with this forum. But also very sad ones (when people died). I know there are some trolls but they are a small minority. We have to be louder than them.
Only read very bad things about reddit. But not sure whether they are true.
Another question I had in mind for this thread was: What would be different in a forum that only consists of people with your own nationality? I find that a difficult question. Maybe there are some attitudes towards suicide which are prevalent especially in my country. There are for sure different statistics all over the world for example which methods are used.
I assume the answer for most people is they don't know other suicide forums. I also found this forum only by accident.
