I think war takes the lead here. The absolute horrific things happening off-screen (and some stuff we can see on videos) must be nightmare fuel. War included torture, PTSD, rape, humiliation, anxiety, depression, imprisonment, grief... I could keep going.

Animals suffer a lot too, but nothing suffers as much as humans (sadly, because of other humans).

Honeslty I guess everyone has their own type of suffering even animals.

I dont think pain should be compared. All pain is painful mentally and physically.

In the process of farming animals are tortured (for examples look up videos of sheep shearing), are capable of displaying symptoms similar to ptsd in humans, are raped (primarily for dairy farming via a "rape rack"), are capable of displaying symptoms similar to depression in humans, are confined their entire lives, and are fully capable of experiencing grief.

I say this not to diminish the suffering of humans, but to point out that animals and humans are very similar.
