I feel like most people put conventionally attractive people on pedestals, its like society thinks that looks determine worth its bizarre.

Definitely conventionally unattractive people. This may sound like a stretch to some but society genuinely barely views unattractive people as human. I've seen unattractive people barely receive any sympathy while going through painful situations, meanwhile attractive people get showered with support and care. It's very stupid and I hope people eventually learn to prioritise personality over something as superficial as a pretty face.

Definitely the former.
Now that I look the way that I look like things have become that much easier.


Well ironically I have felt better psychologically when I was unattractive then I do now
But it's a correlation not a causal consequence

Unattractive people. Attractive people get far more grace and understanding than their unattractive counterparts. Additionally, conventionally unattractive people tend to be parts of some sort of marginalized group that's visually identifiable (i.e. disabled, non-white, queer) and are therefore already targets for oppression and violence.

Which isn't to say that conventionally attractive people have easy lifes. But they have an easier time eliciting sympathetic and positive reactions to their plights than a less conventionally attractive person in the same position. Additionally it is far easier to become conventionally unattractive than it is to become conventionally attractive.

Both come with their own set of issues and different factors can influence stuff. That being said, unattractive people are by far treated worse by society overall.

I find a lot of the the "pretty/hot people are on easy mode" type claims, simplify attractive vs unattractive beyond any useful discussion. As much as a society has an ideal appearance, every person has their own preferences and different cultures place value on different features. People definitely hold prejudices and stuff, many people notice appearance before they notice anything else about a person. But attractiveness really matters in limited situations, and those are the situations people who find themselves unattractive tend to fixate on.

Unattractive people have it worse overall... but when an attractive person suffers there is no difference to the suffering. Suffering is suffering... it's just that on average you have a lot more hurdles in life the more unattractive you are.

Agree with everyone else. Looking good is considered one of the modern day "magics" and has a clear genetic aspect to it.

But to be contrarian, sometimes "Trust the man who smells; he has no secrets" applies.

Conventionally unattractive people. But even if you are conventionally attractive, you may have it difficult, if dealing with severe mental issues for example. Nevertheless halo effect will still play in your favor most of the times

They literally murdered people but had a flock of crazed fans feral for them because they were considered "attractive".

Yeah no i totally agree. I've just recently been seeing a ton of videos claiming that conventionally attractive people have it harder and I was getting confused because I also thought this was an obvious choice.
