I wish you good luck with the poll, I hope you get some answers.

But I must say that in all my years I have never come across a discussion about politics which was "fun". Politics is one of those topics that almost invariably leads to verbal violence and bloodshed.

I'm a democratic socialist. You can bet every dollar that this primary was illegitimate because there were no delays in the election. There were no options to vote by mail during the pandemic either. My state had a significant amount of voters not showing up to polls because everyone was recommended to stay inside. Sanders was my vote, still will remain my vote in write-in. Even while knowing that Sanders was a big chance.

It's time that the left leaves the democrats. We need to unify the left and make room for real progressives. Our fight isn't over. Our country hates freedom. Both candidates have brains of Swiss cheese. Sorry, not sorry, I'm not voting for the nominee.

My favourite candiate was pete buttigieg. I think he is cute, he is so cool as well.

I had a feeling the democracts will fix the primary to ensureJoe biden will be the nominee.

What do you think of sexual assault allegations against joe biden. It could be possible but there should be an investigation in matters like this. He shouldnt be the nominee etc.

I believe women need to be listened and treated with compassion when it comes to allegations of sexual assault/rape.

Tara read i am little suspicious but keeping an open mind.
Why is she coming forward now only month before the election .where was she when he was running for VP.

It's a shame that people like the ideas that progressives bring to the table, yet they're swept under the rug in a flash. What happens is the democratic party in addition to the media call a few people, especially Obama, and signal the masses that Biden is the guy who get Trump out of office.

No one called out the DNC for letting primaries go while America was tightly regulating people going outside. Not to surprising.

Tara Reade's has been the most chilling to see develop. She's tried to get media attention since '93 yet a lot of journalism has shot her down. Moderate democrats believe voting for Biden is the choice to go, yet what they forget is how right-wing Biden's congressional record is.

I'll probably be in the minority here, but I'm voting for Trump this year. Now before you shrug me off as a nutty right-wing extremist, I will also say that I have voted blue/independent all my life and actually protested against his election last time. But desperate times call for desperate measures.

The economy's just too important this election cycle. He's been the only one who has been actively saying from day 1 that we can't close America down. Dem's are utterly disregarding how the prolonged shutdown is ruining lives and completely stomping all over the Constitution and American freedoms. There are a lot of things I don't agree with Trump on, but I don't think his presidency was nearly as bad as I had anticipated. I could stand another 4 years of it. Not so sure about another 4 years of going in and out of lockdown every time there's a new wave of corona.

I stopped voting in the national elections after Gore won the popular vote but Bush won with the electoral college. I realized my vote really doesn't count.

I didn't talk about it for a long time because in the US it's such a mythical and emotionally charged topic, with folks spouting of pro-voting platitudes like they're pro-lifers, things like, "People died for my right to vote," etc. Some will try to shame folks for not voting, many who do vote wear a button all day that says "I voted." And yeah, I get that as late as the Sixties Black people had to fight with their lives for their right to vote, even when it was already their legal right. But then Russell Brand said something that gave voice to what I think: "I don't vote because I don't want to participate in the illusion." After that, I no longer had any fear of saying, "I don't vote," and no one came after me with torches. Of course, by the time I started saying it, I was in a very liberal state, no longer in the Deep South.

Remember the car stickers "W the President"? When I lived in the South, I had one on my car that said "F the President," it got keyed in the WalMart parking lot.

I hate politics. It's all such a scam and a show.

Rant over. If someone disagrees with me, meh okay. It's my choice, my own offendedness against the system. I don't push it on anyone else. I ain't even gonna hate on @FusRohDracarys in spite of my strong reactionary feelings about his/her candidate choice, still a good and favorite member on the forum.

If I'm still alive I will be voting for Biden. Honestly he isn't who I would have picked but there isn't any other choice. I would prefer someone younger than 70.
Though I would have been ok with Bernie. Biden doesn't seem like he's all there. A little more than Trump and not psycho.
I would have preferred Kamala Harris or Cory Booker … there were so many, I can't remember all of them.
Especially not that one lady who seems like she was abducted by aliens and brought back because even they thought she was a wackadoodle.

I know some won't vote because they don't like the Democratic Nominee but I will say this. As long as Trump and the Republicans can keep putting more and more Conservative Judges on the Supreme Court and lower Courts the more our rights will be taken away. I don't know if we will ever see Assisted Suicide legal in the U.S. (Maybe never) but as long as the Republicans stay in control we are guaranteed it will NEVER be legal.

I don't hate Trump supporters... I just want to make that clear. I think he's just using them to enrich himself and all his rich buddies while we just get poorer & poorer.

Well ... you asked why. I'm not trying to change anyone's mind & I don't think I could anyway.

It's just like George Carlin said, voting gives you the illusion of choice. You have no choice. So why participate in a game we can't win? And it's only going to get worse over time. If voting could get us out of this mess we wouldn't be where we are today.

I dont think all trump supporters are racist. I believe they wanted change from a system that appears not to be working.

Personally i think the left and the liberals have failed. They were too busy and still calling people racist and stupid rather than asking why were people attracted to trump and his policies to begin with

Trump is a fake though. He is financially irresponsible because he has been bankrupt 4 times and has series of failed business ie trump airline, trump university, trump magazine etc. If he cant even manage a business how can he be trusted to run a national econmey.

I don't live in the US or vote, and am not too fussed who wins. But the election betting has been enlightening. Trump got as short as 1.21 (83% winning chance) just before Super Tuesday when it looked all but certain Sanders had won the primary. On a single day, he went from 1.21 (83%) to 2.15 (46%) when Biden won Super Tuesday and became the presumptive nominee. I've never seen anything like that, in a market with hundreds of millions invested. And the odds haven't changed much since. It's like the parties don't matter, change the leader and the Democrats go from virtually no hope at all of winning to favourite. If that was rigged, I can see why. But it seems a concern for the system when the parties become irrelevant and it's all about the leader.

I'm not from the US but I always follow the elections. The democrats and the media's main argument seems to be that Joe Biden is the strongest candidate. Yet you listen to him speak and he is either a) stupid or b) in obvious cognitive decline. Personally I think a bit of both. He is known for making gaffes. He can barely speak. Several women have accused him of either inappropriate touching or sexual assault. This is the candidate that is going to bring character back?! As the anti-trump?

I don't agree with Bernie Sanders on everything but if I were an American I would've voted for him. He doesnt have a history of corruption and bad decisions unlike the others. The Clinton's and Biden's are everything that is wrong with politics in America imo. They are corporatists and warmongers. They take part in pay for play. They give speeches for 250,000 dollars a pop. Are these people that are supposed to fight for the average citizen? Because their history shows they fight for the corporations and the military industrial complex. How anyone can vote for them is beyond me. It seems to be mostly out of fear of electing a republican or the fact that Biden was Obama's Vice President? Do people even know his policies?

Please someone feel free to enlighten me!

I agree with you. The majority of the wealthy are fake and a lot of them have been bankrupt. Trumps are only o. The forefront because he is president. Nobody cared about a lot of this before he became president. The majority of US politicians are corrupt. It's part of the reason Trump won in the first place he came across as less corrupt then Hillary Clinton. He was able to highlight her flaws very well and the fact that she supported the Iraq war. I think a lot of people thought they would take a chance on an outsider regardless of his rhetoric. They thought he would bring them change as opposed to Clinton. Of course there are racists among them but to say all of them are is silly. He got 62 million votes!

and I say all this as somebody that would never vote for Trump.

But couldn't the argument also be made that if you keep voting for the same candidate time and time again nothing will ever change? I think this is how a lot of young Bernie supporters feel. Nobody is owed your vote but that seems to be how it works in America. You are shamed by the dem party and the media into voting for a candidate that doesn't share your views because if you don't the republican bogeyman is going to destroy everything. Not saying you were shamed this is just how I view it as a non-American. Not saying our politicians here in U.K./Ireland are better either they are crap.

I honestly don't think it matters either way. With all the voter fraud and manipulation that's been proven through the years no one can convince me that my vote or any vote actually count.

I'm sure both sides will tout "hope and change" like they always do. Both parties are just different sides of the same coin. They shake hands and laugh at us behind closed doors.

Not from the US and i only follow your elections because they always have strong repercussions in Latin America, but I really don't get how the left in the US works. this is the second time in a row that i see so many people not wanting to vote because they absolutely hate their candidate and no one else represents their views, or they vote because they don't want to see the other side win and prefer the lesser of two evils.

here in colombia we can vote in blank and if the blank vote wins by 50% then the candidates must be reelected for the second row. maybe something like this would solve some of the problems with the left in your country.

the only place that tried that legitimately was the UK and they abandoned it because they realized how bad of an idea it was.
I live in the UK. Sir patrick vallance is one of the goverment scientiffic advisors. He said on live tv 80% of the population must get covid19 in order to be immunne.
The problems with herd immunity is you can get covid 19 more than once so where is the immunity.

People with weaker immune systems and the chronically ill will not surive getting covid 19. This will kill off a lot of disabled people.
Covid 19 has shown society and the goverent does not care for the disabled. A society that does care for the disabled will not allow this to happen.

He still advising the goverment. Whoever thought of herd immunity needs to resign

I am from the north not the republic so not sure. That's another problem when you have 3 or more parties it splits the vote so then the majority can end up voting against the party that actually wins!! 3 parties got 20%+ of the vote each! That to me is so stupid and if I was voting it would be frustrating.
