Which suicide method would you never choose and why?

My preferred Method is SN or N. One method I could never imagine for myself is self-immolation. If I had to do it, I would use it to protest against the criminalization of assisted suicide. (the method is often refered to politicial stuff). But this must be very very painful. Like drinking acid.

Self immolation... My grandfather was born in Cuba and he had 7 brothers and 1 sister and grew up in a fairly rural farming upbringing. One of his brothers had some kind of undiagnosed mental sickness, bipolar or something, and ending up pouring gasoline all over himself and lit a match and killed himself that way when he was a teenager. That... That shit is insane, my mind cannot wrap itself around doing that. My grandfather never spoke much about it and I feel bad that he had to deal with that.

Feel worse for his brother though. Damn. But at least they are all at peace and resting now.

Partial hanging because it seems to almost never work, based on posts here, but it can leave marks on your neck that get you hospitalized.

Tried once and I 100% agree with you, at least in my case. Wound up with the state breathing down my neck afterwards. Sorry for the pun, but I actually mean it, the state tried to run my life. Walter

Train method is one, because it takes a lot of bravery/desperation to get past SI & because that method involves the train driver which is pretty messed up imo.

Yuh flopped with partial hanging too. I don't get to pass out. The youtube illustrations are simplistic I think... however I don't see it as a horrific method.

SN results seem to vary a lot- sometimes it seems to go peacefully and sometimes it is really painful, based on a lot of posts- often the painful ones don't ctb, but sometimes they do and peoplpe can see by the condition of the bodies that it was horrible. And yet in a fair number of monitored cases, at least according to Stans guide, it went peacefully. So it's a really tough decision with this method, since the closer a person sticks to the protocol the better their chances are of it being peaceful, but thewre is not enough data to know what the odds are if you closely follow the protocol.

Can't say much unfortunately, all i can say is that I've seen what dying from it looks like and I definitely don't want it. Not saying that other method look better though...

Hmmm immolation or train (or anything that involves others) just because I don't want to pass my pain onto anyone else. Now, if it were a train with some form of "auto-pilot" then I'd 100% do it.

Drowning in a lake or hanging outside the house, anything that requires being outside, because the weather is too cold 90% of the year, and there are too many walkers. If it was warm and there was no one nearby to see, then maybe.

Overdosing on drugs that aren't morphine or nembutal. It is hard to die from it and you're lucky if it actually kills you.... like three weeks later. In the meantime it's very painful and if you live you can get permanent damages from it

Jumping from a height or going into open traffic. There's no accessible places high enough to be surely fatal in my area. And I feel like jumping in front of a car's a gamble in whether you die or not, from what I've heard. Plus I'd just be traumatizing a poor driver that was just minding their own business.

The condition of the body doesn't necessarily indicate what the person felt. If they were unconscious when all this 'horrible' stuff happened then it doesn't really matter?

Self immolation and electrocutions are two hard nos for me. I also can't stomach anything that could put others at risk or otherwise traumatize strangers. I don't want to cause unnecessary pain.

the most ideal way to go imo is through SN or N, something that wouldn't be painful. od'ing would be my second best way to go since most of the cases, you'd just drift off to sleep but the consequences of it when you survived are god awful.

anyway, i think it would be burning to death, drowning, hanging, and jumping off. i'd never choose these methods because your SI would kick in before you could even go. plus, i hate struggling and being in pain — i mean, who doesn't?

I can't do train or anything that endangers others, like drowning or jumping in a public spot. Although I've considered train out of desperation along with hanging, since they don't require many resources and can be done impulsively.

Self-immolation, hanging or SN is probably how I'll ctb depending on how I feel. Self-immolation because it's the only way people will understand what my life was really like and possibly the only way to get around SI.
