• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

There is this court case in the US against meta.
We probably don't have clear empiricial evidence for objectively the highest death count.

I think facebook, Instagram, X, discord and some messengers can all be pretty damaging.

The worst things I associate with each platform.
Facebook - bullying (I think you could bully people who expressed suicidality by reporting them and Facebook eventually punished these people. I think this reporting mechanism was abused)
Instagram - distorted body image, depression, the false notion other people were better looking and all way more happy than oneself
X - deepfakes without consent also from minors, allows bullying, very toxic content
Telegram - drug selling, shady messenger, shady founder, some usage in dictatorships
Discord - I think the 764 community used this livestream their crimes, I think the moderation can be insufficient, and I am sceptical of privacy standards

Considering the death count the question would be: absolute number most people who committed suicide influenced by the algorithm or platform logic. Or the highest ratio of ctb per user.
