  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Pros of thinner ropes: easier to tie, puts more pressure on the carotid arteries
Cons of thinner ropes: breaks more easily
Pros of thicker ropes: doesn't break as easily
Cons of thicker ropes: more difficult to tie, may put less pressure on the carotid arteries

Both will work. 12 mm is closer to 1/2 inch. That will give more comfort. 10 mm is fine.
Make sure your knot tightens easily. That will help you to pass out the fastest. If you ease into it, you should only feel the pressure, no real pain.

Personally I don't want to risk it breaking so I went with 12. Triple my body weight it should be ok. The alternative was stabbing myself in the chest while hanging before losing consciousness as a backup but I am not confident I would be able to so 12 it is.

Can you elaborate on ease into it? Full suspension is pretty much all or nothing…

This was 2 years ago, I remember seeing this user hanging around here until one day didn't show signs of activity. Will this person still be with us?

I've got some 5/8 Inch "safety" line from work. Has like a 5,000 lb breaking strength.

Don't drop, just step off whatever you are standing on.
A drop multiplies your effective weight on the rope and tie off point. You can overload it.
A drop has no advantage if the rope can tighten easily.
