Alcohol, nicotine and sometimes coffee.
I vehemently reject any medication as much as possible.

For sleep: I first take mirtazapine & lyrica on an empty stomach, wait half an hour and eat a full (not large ) meal. If it makes me drowsy, I might add other meds like zopiclone, benzos, baclofen and tizanidine. If I'm lucky, I might fall asleep.
In the summer nothing works unfortunately, I get anxious & nervous and the insomnia is much more severe. Then I take opioids daily since they help for the anxiety & nevousness.

Yep I'm in the UK. It's a paid for service ran out of a hospital in Oxford which I have to travel almost 2 hours to every month (obviously someone drives me there and back though! :pfff: )
I believe you have to get referred by a psychiatrist to the service and then meet with a consultant who evaluates you. One thing they stress is that you must not have taken any illegal drugs in 2 years or experienced regular psychosis. I am unsure if a GP can refer you but if you google Oxford Ketamine Clinic all the info will come up and I bet there's a form you can fill in to contact them. There is quite often a long waiting list to be seen (3 months or so).

I found it absolutely helped me get out of my immensely low depressions with my first infusion. That was probably the most deprsssed I've been in 38 years. It gives you a sort of peace and clarity. Like it allows your brain to fire in different pathways that your depressive brain has forgotten to navigate. Some IV's are better than others. It's really not an exact science as they know it works they just aren't really sure how and why.

The oral works too but it is in no way comparable to the IV. My problem was I started my program just before Covid and ever since my first IV, the level of service has changed. It's feels less therapeutic and more get you in and out as quick as possible. IV lasts 45 mins and they used to let you sit in a room after with other people who had had the IV too and drink tea and eat biscuits and chat which I found actually immensely helpful. Once Covid happened they stopped doing it which I felt was a really important part of the process.

I have actually taken a break from it for the past 6 weeks as I really wanted to gauge if it was working or if it was just in my head. I tried to CTB on Saturday so maybe it was keeping me alive after all.:haha:
Does it do anything for libido? I still can't believe a hairloss drug has crushed me 10 years after stopping it

Does Ketamine help libido? Yes, somewhat. But what really helps is having someone in your life that you lust after in the first place.

Yea, that's a problem. Im still numb emotionally and physically.. when I have a good day it's still only about 10 percent. This drug did some serious damage

Going to try though, called my nurse buddy.. he's going to get me a few iv bags to try

I'm out of a few of these meds, but I take:
Lithium, Naltrexone, Vistaril, Trileptal, Trazodone, Risperdal, Zofran, Ativan and the occasional weed (not prescribed to me, but it helps tremendously).
How do you feel on naltrexone?

Effexor and Zyprexa. I think Effexor is a great anti depressant and worked wonders for me before my health problems now it doesn't help at all. Or I guess I'd have to stop it to know whether or not it's helping.

Did that help at all? My psychiatrist is telling me to do TMS
It helped for a while, but you have to upkeep appointments. You have to go five times a week for several weeks for about an hour. It's relatively painless. But it wore off and I couldn't afford more.

I'll probably pass on it then. My insurance doesn't cover it so a course of treatments would be like 2,000. And if it's only temporary relief then I guess what's the point

It helps my self harm urges
They prescribed me that for the same reason and I used it one day and I felt icky. Although they started me on two drugs on the same day. How am I able to distinguish the benefits of one from the other. So I started my new antidepressant instead, and I think I'm going to try naltrexone again next week or so.
