Which drugs do you have to take every day to keep going, (if you don't mind sharing)?

I take every evening: Quetiapine 400 mg, Zeldox 80 mg (both antipsychotics), Trazodone 150 mg (antidepressant) and Zolpidem 10mg (for insomnia).

And I don't feel like they do any good. Yes, I don't have acute psychosis, but I still have anhedonia, depression and I'm suicidal all the time.

don't feel like they do me good either: sertraline 50mg (antidepressant: I'm getting off so I'm gradually lessening the dose), venlafaxine 150mg (antidepressant), xanax 0.5mg (anxiety) and zolpidem 10mg (insomnia).

Sertraline 200mg, Aripiprazole 20mg and Promethazine 50mg. I also take some other medications for other medical conditions.

I think meds help keep me somewhat stable, I do feel more numb to things and my moods are a little more stable so I feel less likely to act impulsively. But they come with their own side effects. I no longer enjoy anything, I literally take no pleasure in things, I just lay around all day and do nothing really. Also my sex drive disappeared after taking them, it's not a big deal to me but I know to some though it could be a deal breaker. I take these for BPD and Bipolar.

Assuming you only want the psychiatric meds?

Lithium, Prozac, Zoloft, Propranolol, Gabapentin (I'm prescribed this for physical and psychiatric reasons)
20 mg Brintellix but I do ketamine treatments
Do you like Brintellix? I used to take it back when it was Trintellix, and it worked incredibly well for the first month or so. Then it seemed to plateau. I really want to give it a second chance, but my psychiatrist keeps coming up with reasons not to. I also really want to try ketamine infusions.

Fluoxetine (Prozac) and Mirtazapine and occasionally Temazepam, I feel no benefit from them whatsoever, been on so many different meds anti depressants and mood stabilisers, have zero confidence in them.

Completely painless and worked for a while. Went daily, five times a week, for six weeks. I saw improvement. But it wore off.

I'm bipolar and meds have robbed me of all my feelings apart from the depressive/suicidal tendencies.

I'm fortunate to have good insurance, but not good enough for another round of treatment. If it doesn't take hold after six weeks it's not going to work.

Aren't you in the UK? How hard was it to get Ketamine prescribed to you? I've never had it offered and have tried almost all types of meds. How does it work for you? Sorry for all the questions!

Yep I'm in the UK. It's a paid for service ran out of a hospital in Oxford which I have to travel almost 2 hours to every month (obviously someone drives me there and back though! :pfff: )
I believe you have to get referred by a psychiatrist to the service and then meet with a consultant who evaluates you. One thing they stress is that you must not have taken any illegal drugs in 2 years or experienced regular psychosis. I am unsure if a GP can refer you but if you google Oxford Ketamine Clinic all the info will come up and I bet there's a form you can fill in to contact them. There is quite often a long waiting list to be seen (3 months or so).

I found it absolutely helped me get out of my immensely low depressions with my first infusion. That was probably the most deprsssed I've been in 38 years. It gives you a sort of peace and clarity. Like it allows your brain to fire in different pathways that your depressive brain has forgotten to navigate. Some IV's are better than others. It's really not an exact science as they know it works they just aren't really sure how and why.

The oral works too but it is in no way comparable to the IV. My problem was I started my program just before Covid and ever since my first IV, the level of service has changed. It's feels less therapeutic and more get you in and out as quick as possible. IV lasts 45 mins and they used to let you sit in a room after with other people who had had the IV too and drink tea and eat biscuits and chat which I found actually immensely helpful. Once Covid happened they stopped doing it which I felt was a really important part of the process.

I have actually taken a break from it for the past 6 weeks as I really wanted to gauge if it was working or if it was just in my head. I tried to CTB on Saturday so maybe it was keeping me alive after all.:haha:

To keep on going?

Physically, "Triumeq", a three ARV (anti-retro-viral) medicines cocktail for HIV.
Rivotril (klonazepam) for my anxiety and sleep disorders (sometimes in addition to Nipam and/or Ambien).

For my psychological "well being" - weed and occasionally H.
Without the last two I would have been gone a long time ago.

Never taken antidepressants, as only 25% of human population improves on them. (a fact)

I actually read somewhere it's even less than 25%. Some drugs, SSRIs have had no better affect than a placebo in some studies.

As you no doubt already know, trying for find an unbiased study that hasn't been funded by big pharma for GENUINE data is pretty much impossible. Whenever Legit studies are done, they are often very difficult to find online. As someone who's taken almost ever antidepressant at some point, I can tell you that for me they do the sum total of f*ck all.
