No, you should vote. Not voting doesn't do anything but give worse opponents a higher chance of getting elected. Voting can help to keep the dumbest of the bunch from getting into power. A large part of why Trump didn't get re-elected was because people went of their way to try get more people to vote. You don't vote because you like a canidate, you vote in order to keep worse ones from getting into power.

I thought I would be a communist and anti-theist but I didn't read some of the choices through because there were so many of them and the text was overwhelming…

Politically I am pretty apathetic, I have never voted. It always feel like politics is just juggling things around so if you give to one area you have to take from another. If I take a political test it usually comes out as pretty much centrist.

I think you have a point but, how do you work out who to trust? Do you just pick the one who at least says things you agree with? I think that's a major issue though. I don't tend to vote because I don't trust any of them!

lol these results make me seem pretty extreme but I guess they make sense. In general, I think government should do things only the government can do and otherwise stay out of things. So, following that line of thinking, national gvt should do what only a national gvt can do. There were probably 5-10 questions out of 51 I had to say "I disagree with all of these" so who knows how that affected it, and there were plenty where my preferred choice wasn't available but I went with what was closest. Like, "who should make the highways, local or national government?" There was no in-between option where the federal government should coordinate how highways will pass between provinces at their borders but the provinces will control how it moves through their mainland.

It's hard for me to say. Overall, I think I'm in the middle. I can't stand the left and the right. Overall, I think this division is senseless. In my country (Poland) I have no one to vote for. It is a choice between a lesser evil and a greater one. I also lack knowledge about economics, for example, so I don't want to say too much. I am most likely wrong on many topics.
I'm definitely not an anarchist or anything like that. Anarchy has tragic consequences and lasts only for a moment. Sooner or later some person/group of people will win and rule new.
I only know one thing: the current democracy in the Western world is very weak, but unfortunately it is difficult to find a sensible alternative.

I guess you would just go off their overall reputation, along with the repuation of the political party as a whole, and who seems to be the most trustworthy of a group of untrustworthy assholes. Like, who seems to have actually planned out how they are going to implement certain things? It's also important to look into their views on certain marginalized communities too, especially when it comes to the lgbtq+ community. A lot of politicians will usually very open about their stances on trans people in particular. There's also looking at who they seem to be trying to appeal to. This applies a lot to the US in particular. A lot of American conserative politicians will specially try to appeal to evangelicals, which is a big red flag.

Along with that, while there isn't a guarantee that they'll actually fulfill their campaign promises (they almost never will), seeing their proposed campaign promises can give you some insights into their way of thinking, along with if they actually listen to research or not.

I think the biggest giveaway is usually what they did if they've been elected prior. In most cases, that'll usually give a good look into whether you should vote for the person or their opponents.

I won't lie and say that it isn't all just one big messy guessing game, but it's something that I do believe that needs to be done. A lot of extremely dangerous people and brainless dimwits get elected because the only people that are going out and voting are idiots who don't care about anyone but themselves. People who treat certain politicians and political parties as Godly figures and who go out of their way to harm children and marginalized communties. It's better to try and guess who is going to be lesser of several evils and vote for them than not vote at all and give worse of the worse a chance at winning.

I don't know how to label myself but I hate the government and I hate authority. Ideally if I could, I'd live a naturalist lifestyle in a cabin in the woods, using as little technology as possible, and living off the land, and the government and society both leave me alone.

Trudeau allowed CCP agents into top secret bio-facilities in Winnipeg, promised to buy Chinese covid vaccines and then sued the journalist who tried to expose it. Pretty sure that could be considered high treason

But the media cares more about Polievre not wanting biological males competing in female sports.

The political system is f*cked. Red/Blue - Left/Right - they're all essentially the same. They all have their paymasters.
I've lived on 3 different continents under more than 10 different governments. ALL.THE.SAME. It's shades of difference, that's all. You're naïve to think otherwise...

Yikes. What an oversimplification of the potential dangers of a conservative government. His threats to trans people go beyond sports, not that you seem to care about these threats to human rights. I agree that Trudeau sucks but he is the lesser of two evils. Do you not remember how things were under Harper? Do you really think that Polievre wouldn't participate in any scandals if elected? Come on. He's playing you with his fallacious "common sense" arguments.

Just a suggestion but there is plenty of books/small introductory stuff here if you are curious about anarchism, also the subreddit r/anarchy101 is pretty good :)
