  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

Is there a perfect date for CTB/Suicide?

We are speaking on Months like December: (Winter will decay body slowly)
Or after Holidays so your parents won't spend the Christmas buying a coffin instead of presents, or your Birthday? (For Metaness I don't know)

What truly is the best date?

Ideas?
Thanks,
-Jenjoh2358

I don't think there is ever an ideal time to ctb if someone has family. The anniversary of the suicide will always be a time of sadness for the bereaved.

When I ctb, I will try to avoid doing it close to big holidays such as Christmas or my loved one's birthdays.

December sounds nice because your body won't decay so fast hence you can still look put together lol.

Idk, I've tried picking specific dates, thinking "hm what sounds like a nice date for my anniversary to be on?" lol

But I think at this point I should do it 'when the time feels right' or whatever…

Yes, I think it's personal for everyone. Maybe get a calendar and mark any significant dates that you don't want to affect for any loved ones... then see where the largest blank space of weeks is and do it in the middle of that.
If you are more isolated and don't have many loved ones then I guess you can just pick.

I feel like body decay is not so important unless you're really not going to be found for a long time. Generally there will be a post-mortem in the case of an 'untimely' death so they will be investigating and preserving your body anyway.

Personally I don't think it really matters for the one who's kicking it, because once you're dead, you are dead thats it - you then become somebody else's burden to deal with. So why worry about preservation?
To me, I think the "right time" for ctb is when you've come to terms with the fact that things are never going to improve no matter what is done, and you've lived enough life to find peace in your decision. As for your family members, friends, acquaintances, etc. (people who will mourn) I don't think they'll concern themselves much with such minutiae, to them it'll be a terrible devastation regardless.

Not on a loved one's birthday or on a major holiday like Christmas (if your family celebrates it)

I think I'll do it in the summer or spring on a day that's significant to me but not anyone else in my family. I'm avoiding winter, too many holidays and the gloominess of the season can make things sadder than usual.

I will hang myself in spring in a remote forest. Then there are already leaves on the trees so that my body cannot be detected from helicopters. In autumn mushroom pickers will only find a skeleton.

When the best time is for ctb, depends on the individual. We have the right to exit this world at a time of our choosing.
I want to ctb around my birthday. I do not like a day that is supposed to celebrate an existence I do not want and did not ask for. I also strongly dislike christmas. Those two events happen in December which is my least favourite month.
Personally, for me every day is a great day for ctb, but unfortunately I am still here.
