I'm not an oldtimer, but I love Cohen.
Remebered Johnny Cash:
Kudos to you for knowing old classics! Glad to hear younger generation appreciates Cohen! Many know this song from movie "Justice League", but no one sings it like Cohen. The searing lyrics and the theme that one cannot change a society that is rotten to the core has always struck a cord with me and my experiences.
I love Johnny Cash as well. My fav though is Walk The Line. It is part of my playlist I will be playing in last few hours, the best of the best classics, timeless songs which have amazing lyrics.
Example of song in category of they don't write lyrics like this anymore, don't know if you know this one, watch it on YouTube.
"Smoke Gets In Your Eyes" by Otto Harbach, best cover by Platters. It is a timeless ballad to love.
Sticking to CTB theme, I also like Mary Hopkin's "those were the days my friend, we thought they'd never end..."
Ok. Enough oldies from old peeps! Although if you are listening to The Rolling Stones, heck they're older than I am.
