Something comes to mind often when browsing the forum, and I suppose it could count as a "hot take."

I dislike the abundance of acronyms around here (in general, but also around here), particularly when it comes to "CTB". I am pro-choice, but I believe that suicide is an act that ought to be considered carefully, it's not something one decided to do randomly for a laugh. The acronym "CTB" obscures the significance of the act, trivialises its discussion, and honestly it's more than a bit cringy. The sea of acronyms can also make parsing discussions more difficult than it needs to be.

Additionally, I don't believe it does any favours to pro-choice/right-to-die discussions in the eyes of the general public when sites like this, which try to represent the subject in a serious, mature manner, rely on in-group initialisms, acronyms, and other needlessly obscure language.

I agree completely, it removes suspicious, dare I say scary amounts of weight from the idea and makes it subconsciously harder to consider what you're saying instead of slipping into the group nihilism, I try to never use it.

Most parents shouldn't be parents and a lot of our supposed "disciplinary methods" (yelling, corporal punishment, silent treatment, etc) are really just child abuse or at least unethical behaviours disguised as "discipline". Mustard is actually great so long as you don't use too much of it. It especially works well when mixed with ketchup and mayo.

While I do sympathize with antinatalism and find the entire philosophy to be more logical in comparison to natalism, I do think that the antinatalist rhetoric on this site can get a bit out of hand at times. While I'm not the biggest fan of most parents out there and I do believe that you shouldn't ctb if you have children you are still looking after, there are parents that are on here either for recovery reasons or because their children are all grown-up and independent now and they wish to finally ctb.

The fact that there was someone on here who felt the need to leave this site because they felt unwelcome due to the large amounts of antinalatist rhetoric on here is concerning. While I do think that so long as people aren't saying anything discriminatory on here then they should be able to say whatever they please, I do sometimes wish that the amount of antinalatlism on this site was dialed back just a bit.

(Though I understand that this is a suicide forum, so large amounts of antinatalism is kind of par for the course)

I also think that Oshi no Ko (the anime, not the manga. I've never read the manga for it) isn't as good as people are saying it is.

Omori is a good story, but FAR from a good game. It's so fucking dragged out, too much side tagents. Too slow, and too much dialogue. I can't relax and enjoy the game or get scared if I'm constantly annoyed and mentally yelling at the game to fucking get on with the story.
For example, (spoilers for Omori btw) when you go outside to at three days left, you are sent on a quest to look for Aubrey. this part could've been massively cut by having you ask her goons as a group, instead of going on 3 side tagents before finally having you run across the giant maps to the church.
Which brings me to my second point. The maps are beautiful, but huge, it's annoying to run through them. The grabage dump area could've been WAY smaller. There's also too many long hallways, so when you get to an important long hallway it kind of loses its meaning and becomes annoying as it takes a long time to run through them. The battle system is cool, but it takes a long time to grind due to the animations.
The grinding can also be removed in my opinion.

I can understand. I'm fine with mustard, but the situation is the same with raw onions .

I also don't understand why people criticize other people's tastes, for example, if I don't like raw onions, it doesn't mean that they are bad, my taste buds just work differently.

The fruit itself is bland and watery.

Depending on the type (color) of dragon fruit, it can actually be quite sweet! Typically, you should aim for the yellow ones rather than the pink ones.

I don't know why this is the case, but I believe it has to do with the fact that they're harvested at different stages. As a result, the yellow ones, which have more time to ripen, are sweeter than the pink ones. Plus, upon further research, the yellow ones tend to be the sweetest ones out of all the dragon fruits.

1) All anime English dubs are bad.

2) Pugs can be perfectly healthy and live fulfilling and pain-free lives.

3) Pitbulls should not be pets. Alas, they already exist as pets, so here's the compromise: require special training for the owner and dog, including a weight/muscle requirement for the owner and special fencing, and muzzles for the dog. You should need a permit and be required to give reports on how it acts. Always leashed, pitbull only dog parks (which in itself is a bad idea but you can't rob the dog of enrichment, either.) 7) Major age gaps between dating adults is not a big deal unless there was grooming beforehand. People bring up power imbalances and act like that makes every age gap problematic. That's just not the case. At 18, I was only interested in 35+ guys and now, at 28, I'm interested in even older guys.

8) FunkoPops are FUGLY. They aren't figures. Highkey hate them.

9) Any religion/belief that is inherently -phobic or sexist is bad and I will never respect them. I can respect individuals of that religion/belief fine, but don't ask me to respect the religion/belief itself. Ain't happening.

10) "Feelings" don't make someone trans. Transsexualism is not a feeling, it's a condition. Not everyone claiming to be trans is valid and gatekeeping is necessary in order not to erase binary transsexuals.

I agree that apple sells overhyped lifestyle products but the hardware is pretty solid (not to mention the slick design). I've had my iPad mini for a good ten years and the battery is still going strong to this day. The only problem is that it doesn't support newer versions of ios -- to pressure you buying a new device, I assume --, which really sucks because many apps, such as prime video, require ios 15+ and I can't even get past 12 anymore .
