When you don't feel like eating or have the energy to cook, what do you often have just to stop feeling hungry?

I've been stuck to eating one meal per day but having trouble even finishing my plate.

Kinda getting sick of noodles and bread too.

various beverages when I feel like starving or I am not motivated to eat and there's variety in flavours of beverages

various desserts and candies and junk food when I feel emotional or sad although I usually regret it later which results in me going back to the various beverages

i go for frozen food in the air fryer or even instant / microwave rice. there is a Korean brand you can get on amazon with EBT that is really good. i hit it with a lil soy sauce or black pepper. if i want gas station / 7-11 style snacks, i usually grab an energy drink or an arizona and some sour candy.

I have a HUGE, sweet tooth. With that said, I love low-fat ice cream, Black Forest cake and most baked sweets.

For protein anything with chicken and/or cheese is great.

My diet is 70% fruit, 20% starches and 10% tea so I don't ever do anything but peeling fruits, blending smoothies or using the microwave to make tea, oat/cornmeal or cook potatoes.

Protein shakes (I have a powder specifically for weight gain, so it has a lot of carbs). Smoothies are good too— just throw some banana, pb, cocoa powder (optionally) and milk into a blender and you're good to go.

also I love the song you're using the cover art from as your profile pic!

I used to eat cashews as a midnight snack b4 but I stopped cos I can't eat breakfast on time. It's surprising how filling those could be. Would be good for awful nights.

Thanks! It's been a massive ear worm for sometime.

I steer clear of whey powder since I'm lactose intolerant but I'll be checking online for dairy free options.

I would usually get protein drinks premade that has added nutrients, or if i was willing to eat but never have energy to cook or even the effort to use the oven, i would have frozen dinners that took 5 min or less to make, and soups are good too. also drinks with electrolytes if not eating or drinking enough

If you're not lactose-intolerant, there's some really interesting enriched milk options that include a bunch of vitamins and nutrients. The ones that are sold here downgraded and put in sunflower oil instead of actual omega 3 enrichment, so I stopped taking it, but it really kept me together during the harder academic years when I didn't have much time to cook or could afford much either. I used to have a glass of it with just a banana for the nauseous rush-hour mornings, when I had more time I'd cook oat bran in it; only takes 7 or so minutes, keeping sure to stir.

It's also compatible with sweet cravings, you can buy a pack of your favorite cookies or cereal.

My problem isn't that I have no appetite. I'm an emotional eater, and eat even when I don't have an appetite.
Anything sweet has always filled that hole in my soul better than anything. I try to eat healthy. But when I really get down, nothing satisfies like sweets, especially chocolate or some kind of pastry. (I wish I had a piece of apple pie right now. lol)

unless I eat weed.

hurrah for weed.
I'd eat vegan/healthier if not depressed

It's hard for me to stay away from sweets, too. I can't even have them in the house.

One I tend to do because it's fairly fast is i scramble 1 egg and pour it into a pan, put some cheese on it, then cover it with a tortilla and flip it so it's tortilla side on the pan. After 20 or so seconds i put a protein in the center (normally a hot dog or leftover cooked sausage) and roll it up, and if I'm feeling frisky i put some sauce in there
