EDIT: Sorry that this so long, I'm just in a chatty mood, and this was fun to put together.

Most of my favorite movies are my favorites because of the impact they had on me growing up as a kid in the 80s. It was a magical time, at least while looking back at it through my Rose-Colored Glasses of +5 Nostalgia.

Hellraiser (1987) Kickstarted my love of horror movies. Yes, I was six when I watched it. Yes, I was traumatized. No, I don't have any regrets.

The Princess Bride (1987) piqued my sense of wonder and imagination as a little nerdling obsessed with Dungeons and Dragons and Fantasy in general.

Labyrinth (1986) Same reasons as above. And David Bowie. And David Bowie's magnificent codpiece of magnificence. Look up ''Magic Dance'' on YT and be reminded of the babe. The babe with the power...

Romeo + Juliet (1996) Yeah I'm a big ol' stupid romantic at heart, and a huge fan of Shakespeare, and when I saw this movie my junior year of high school on a field trip, I absolutely fell in love with it. John Leguizamo freaking killed it as Tibalt. Same for Harold Perrineau as Mercutio,. And Peter Postlethwaite as...just watch the movie, you'll see.

Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975) I was 22 (2003) when I first watched this glorious movie while high off my ass. I have since introduced several ''virgins'' to RHPS in the same way. Let your freak flag fly and let's do the Time Warp!

Pulp Fiction (1994) Do I really need to explain this one?

Event Horizon (1997) One of my favorite Sci-Fi and Horror movies. As someone pretty jaded toward horror movies after growing up watching them, this one surprisingly scared the crap out of me.

Tucker & Dale VS. Evil (2010) A comedy with the facade of a horror movie, I love everything about it. Damn college kid just jumped in the woodchipper!

The Cabin in the Woods (2011) Another comedy/kinda-horror movie that I have probably watched twenty times by now. Freaking hilarious deconstruction of the horror movie genre.

Inside Out (2015) Beautiful, amazing movie. Makes me cry every single time I watch it. Bing Bong!

Honorable mentions: The Craft (1996), Practical Magic (1998), Hocus Pocus (1993), and Halloweentown (1998) I was going through a weird time in my life during ages 19-21, looking for a religion that I could believe and be happy to practice, and I fell in love with Wicca. I immersed myself into reading and watching whatever I could find that included Wicca or witchcraft whether serious or silly (Yes, I have seen every episode of Buffy at least five times, and I know every word to Once More With Feeling...). Although I ultimately didn't form a belief in Wicca (Or any religion for that matter), I still find it fascinating and these movies hold a special place in my weird little heart.

80s films definitely make me feel happy. Raiders of the lost Arc, Karate Kid, Back to the future and Superman 1, 2 and 3. I have a soft spot for 'Maximum Overdrive' as it's awesome and trashy and Stephen King made it when 'coked off his mind'..

And let's make sure we hold a place for the original 1984 Ghostbusters (not that I'm averse to the the remake)

I don't really have a favourite movie but I am so excited about something else that I am going to post about it in this thread.

I went to my first fight club earlier today and it was awesome. The traffic was really slow so I got there a bit late and missed the first few rules of fight club but fought anyway. Thoroughly enjoyed fight club and would recommend fight club to anyone who would care to listen.

The documentary 'Earthlings' is also crushing it's as bad as torture/snuff films from Mexican cartels, Brazilian gangsters or ISIS, horrific imagery and unforgettable.

I'll admit to having a sick fascination for these. I like looking death in the eye.

musicals will always win my heart. I'm hoping more of them will make it to film like Hamilton and Newsies did. I hear Wicked is being worked on so that's exciting and West Side Story is getting a remake.

I've been watching horror lately. A Quiet Place was really good, but the ending. hurry up sequel.

Gretel & Hansel is an automatic favorite and I hope it becomes a cult classic like people think it will.

Actually one of my favorite scenes is where Lane is trying to poison himself in the garage inside the car while it's turned on, and he's practically asleep and says, to his small keychain stuffed animal bear, "wait a minute Mr. Bear, this is crazy... I bet we get her back." and the car goes into reverse, breaking down the garage door (with newly fixed windows). lmao

Or when he's hanging (swinging lol) in the garage, takes hold of the nous and says "wait. This is death...!" :ahhha:

Why is the first thing popped up in my mind High School Musical 3 (2008)? I don't watch a lot of movies and when I do it's just to keep up with the trends. I also have bad memory so right now I'm forgetting every movie I've watched ever lol. Secretly Greatly (2013) from S. Korea is something I enjoy to revisit. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004) is my favorite of the series. As a kid, though, I rewatched Cars (2006) tons of times lol. I like a lot of movies but because of that I don't have a definite favorite.

Jaws - Saw it in the theater when it came out, scarred for life and all that. Quint's telling of the Indianapolis is the best!

The Thing - 1982 version.

First Blood - The scene where he talks to Col. Truatman about being back and what it used to be like makes the movie for me.

Ironically, my favorite film is "La Vita É Bella" ("Life Is Beautiful"). I actually keep a personal Top 100 List of the films most meaningful to me. I'm kind of a film geek.
