Enemy (2013)
2:37 (2006)
Black heaven (2010)
Revolutionary road (2008)
Till human voices wake us (2002)
Boys don't cry (1999)
American beauty (1999)
Camp x ray (2014)
Amèlie (2001)
Hurt locker (2008)
Deer hunter (1978)

It wasn't until now that I realised a considerable amount of my favourite films have suicide s and death in them. Not like indiscriminate death like action movies, like the death of someone important in the plot. Hope this isn't too long a list....there are more I haven't remembered.

Well fucking played.

I'm tempted to say Plan 9, but I'll settle with There Will Be Blood.

Runners-up are Blade Runner 2049 and Arrival.

EDIT: It's to a large extent a spur-of-the-moment decision, the pile of awesome movies for me is way too big to call this authoritatively. Here are some others:
  • 2001: A Space Odyssey
  • Birdman
  • Children of Men
  • City of God
  • Collateral
  • Mad Max: Fury Road
  • No Country For Old Men
  • The Empire Strikes Back
  • Se7en
  • The Mirror
  • Zodiac
  • Unbreakable
  • Brazil
  • Anomalisa
  • Isle of Dogs
  • The Iron Giant
  • Coraline
  • Ma Vie de Courgette
  • The Shawshank Redemption
  • Paprika
  • 5 Centimeters Per Second
  • Millennium Actress

Unfortunately my neurodiverse mind thought Shawshank Redemption was a comedy

I'm currently watching "Hurt Locker" now for the 2nd time. Some observations:

a) it is like porn--earnest, muscly, in-touch-with-their-feelings dudes squinting in the desert with white teeth
b) Ralph Fiennes throws down with the best of 'em: going toe-to-toe with guys decades younger than he. Forgot he was in this. What a versatile MoFo!
c) Kathryn Bigelow is my hero

I'd say The Exorcist had more impact on me than any other film, I saw it when I was like 10-12 in the late 90s and it spooked the shit out of me/had me questioning life/religion in a way I never had before.

The documentary 'Earthlings' is also crushing it's as bad as torture/snuff films from Mexican cartels, Brazilian gangsters or ISIS, horrific imagery and unforgettable.

Ah, just started watching 300 Spartans, and from the almost-orgasmic joy, apparently it is this.

Ahhh. I know I'm quite behind with movies, but still.
