Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Title explains most of it, but I'm interested to know philosophically why things like "implied consent" for medical treatment exist in cases of depression / suicide. Other conditions don't always warrant such treatment. Why is that, exactly?

Because when someone is severely depressed and/or suicidal, society has decided that they are not in their right mind, not thinking clearly, and therefore need to be treated like a child. People are unwilling to accept that one can be suicidal and rational at the time same. There is also this societal mantra of living at all costs. People seem to think staying alive is far and above the most important thing while completely ignoring the quality of a life.

Here in Oz we have r u okay day. People are encouraged to ask friends and loved ones if they are okay. It's just virtue signalling really.

Its one of the stupidest things in Australia.
