ThisThere's zero chance that you have a clinical diagnosis of antisocial personality disorder.
"I'm a psychopath/sociopath" is one of the most common, baseless claims of teenagers who struggle with their emotions. Probably because it's seen as less "pathetic" than the actual issue.
Psychopaths, by definition, are not perturbed by what people think of them.
no i don't really "care" what anyone thinks i was just curious. i don't really struggle with my emotions as they aren't very strong. and sadly i'm 33 i have had difficulty with others since birth and no i wasn't always great to people growing up. i can be charming and engaging but its all an act. i just don't get along with people. There's zero chance that you have a clinical diagnosis of antisocial personality disorder.

What are the chances of even getting diagnosed with this unless there's a history of violence present? I'm guessing zero. There's zero chance that you have a clinical diagnosis of antisocial personality disorder.

there wouldn't really be any benefit to it. i have a diagnosis of bipolar1 and the meds that i take are ones that would theorhetically be prescribed to a psychopath to lessen aggression and such. What are the chances of even getting diagnosed with this unless there's a history of violence present? literally everyone who has ever known me. as well as other symptoms
from what i understand, psychopaths are born and sociopaths are made.
from what i understand, psychopaths are born and sociopaths are made.
wow. so psychos can't be hurt by others and neurotypicals are always innocent... so i'm the devil? i can't be suicidal because i don't fit in and yes others have been cruel to me. you are quite judgy. go play your judgeridoo
Theoretically, hmm I see. Your friends or former friends aren't an authority on psychopaths. Finding better friends could be the next logical step.there wouldn't really be any benefit to it. i have a diagnosis of bipolar1 and the meds that i take are ones that would theorhetically be prescribed to a psychopath to lessen aggression and such.
I'll take "something a psychopath would say" for $500, Alex...literally everyone who has ever known me. as well as other symptoms

I've heard of two types. Secondary and primary psychopathy. Primary is more genetic and this is basically being adapted to the modern world, don't really have emotions, cold and calculating, the stereotype is successful wall-street ppl scamming folks. Secondary is more unstable and emotional but also lacking empathy, only focusing on your own material gains, more impulsive, etc (guess this would be the people stabbing you in an alley).no i am the cold calculating type..
If you're referring to my post, I wasn't rejecting anything, I was just questioning the accuracy of her probable self-diagnosis.It's hilarious how people warn against self-diagnosis, but are quite confident in diagnosing (or rejecting a diagnosis for) another person based on a couple of lines they read. People are clowns.![]()
OP may not be delusional but I don't think reinforcing her negative beliefs can help. Doesn't matter if the message is encouraging and kind if it's based on a premise that won't hold up to simple scrutiny. It's hilarious how people warn against self-diagnosis, but are quite confident in diagnosing (or rejecting a diagnosis for) another person based on a couple of lines they read. Only Rabbits in my dept. Piglets get out.@Makko Imagine a job where you get fired if you don't score the correct winnie the pooh character made me laugh.
Wasn't even you, bud. Your post was basically my own reaction. If you're referring to my post, I wasn't rejecting anything, I was just questioning the accuracy of her probable self-diagnosis.
So you're the clown here my friend. Just don't flame other people to flatter your huge ego and everything will be fine.

Nevermind, actually. Yes, everyone here is speculating and guessing, nothing more.Wasn't even you, bud. Your post was basically my own reaction.
It was yeahwellso or whatever who said that there's zero chance she's actually diagnosed with anything based on pretty much nothing. That level of confidence clearly isn't warranted. I should have simply quoted their message instead of keeping it vague. Sorry.
I don't really get what you're saying here? What's the premise that doesn't hold up to simple scrutiny?
ok but i will judge you for being ignorantI'll take "something a psychopath would say" for $500, Alex...
(If you don't want to be judged as a psychopath, well, then...don't be a pyschopath.)
yes clowns! i can hear the clown music in my head (not insane clown posse)It's hilarious how people warn against self-diagnosis, but are quite confident in diagnosing (or rejecting a diagnosis for) another person based on a couple of lines they read. People are clowns.![]()
Ignorant? Hmmm...Well, I can only work with the information given, which is that you claim to be a psychopath, and that you resent the hate directed at psychopaths. But in the interest of clarification: Are you truly a psychopath? Or do you feel remorse for harmful actions you may have committed, and do you attempt to atone and make amends?ok but i will judge you for being ignorant
well for a long time i didn't even notice when i hurt people or why i would say inappropriate things that made people uncomfortable (up until my mid 20's) i would lose friends and not know why... then i gradually became more self aware and in retrospect i understand that the stuff i did and said was not normal and i shouldn't blame anyone for their appropriate reactions. there is a big stereotype that we cannot learn from our mistakes. if you have enough self awareness you can. i feel remorse for hurting people when i didn't intend to. however when i hurt somebody in retaliation for them hurting me i feel no remorse just sometimes regret if i took it too far. Isn't this kind of like asking why people on the spectrum don't like socialising all that much?ok i understand that the definition of a psychopath is a "bad" person but nobody ever considers that we actually do have feelings and sometimes even concern for others. maybe i'm atypical. i've never hurt animals or set fires or anything but i have made my share of mistakes and that is partly why i want to die. i have hurt people in the past and all i want now is for the remainder of my life to be peaceful. i try to never tell anyone what i am because their immediate reaction is that i must be a serial killer in the making. i have no friends and i don't really care anymore. yeah i'm wired differently but the last thing i want is to cause harm to anyone. just getting that out there..
Well, then, you probably shouldn't self identify as a psychopath, sociopath, whatever. I mean that as a good thing.well for a long time i didn't even notice when i hurt people or why i would say inappropriate things that made people uncomfortable (up until my mid 20's) i would lose friends and not know why... then i gradually became more self aware and in retrospect i understand that the stuff i did and said was not normal and i shouldn't blame anyone for their appropriate reactions. there is a big stereotype that we cannot learn from our mistakes. if you have enough self awareness you can. i feel remorse for hurting people when i didn't intend to. however when i hurt somebody in retaliation for them hurting me i feel no remorse just sometimes regret if i took it too far. Well, there ya go... :)i've been diagnosed with aspergers at a very young age and everyone who has met me says get a second opinion you're probably a psychopath. its kind of unspoken with my psychiatrist. i am on a lot of meds that would calm a psychopath. i have no desire to hurt anyone but i am just not good with people. most of them piss me off. i just don't care enough to act out.
Why label yourself a psychopath if you're likely just autistic?i've been diagnosed with aspergers at a very young age and everyone who has met me says get a second opinion you're probably a psychopath. its kind of unspoken with my psychiatrist. i am on a lot of meds that would calm a psychopath. i have no desire to hurt anyone but i am just not good with people. most of them piss me off. i just don't care enough to act out.
i just wondered because everyone i've ever met has said i'm a psychopath. i don't really have trouble reading others i just get annoyed by them, i do have most symptoms of psychopathy like constantly breaking the law, failing to conform to social norms, being fascinated with things that normal people call "disturbing" "creepy" or "gross", general flat affect, always irritable.. e.t.c. but theres really no way to know for sure so i'm just gonna not label myselfWhy label yourself a psychopath if you're likely just autistic?
If everyone say the sky is green and the grass is blue, does that make it true?
