I've seen quite a few people who just have said some... quite incorrect or just insensitive takes on people are depressed/want to CTB. I know these kinds of takes are not impossible to find online- easy with a little internet searching, but what about real life? As in, people you have interacted with in person more so. I can give an example of one of my dad's friends saying that if someone feels like CTB then they are defective and we should just keep them in prison, because mental hospitals aren't good enough and they don't deserve sympathy. Not an exact quote, of course, but something along those lines. And to add on to the question, did whoever say that take know that you are depressed/have tried to ctb or have thoughts about it/sh/are not in the best mental state etc.? and if it was a bad take, did you try to correct it or let it slide/pretend to agree/say nothing?

"No please don't you have so much to live for" "everyone loves you so much" "how selfish that you even tried did you even think about how we'd feel" "but you're so pretty" (that was a weird one) but yeah mostly from people who don't know what I deal with it's just general comments about selfishness, attention seeking etc

I think you going to Hell for all eternity is probably the worst take, I imagine.
A common one is that it's the 'easy' way out. Which is absurd when thinking about how hard it is to overcome survival instincts.

Well after I came out of my 2nd hospitalization I told my coworker he replied that with: "isn't a bit selfish? In that moment did you think about the people you were going to hurt"?

Idk if he ment well we don't get along as much but I just replied that honestly no I didn't. I explained that all I coukd think.of in the moment I wanted to end it as soon as possible. Get it over with moslty

But I did look at highpoint of view tho.

oh my god i haaaate when people say this. i feel like calling someone selfish for being suicidal is like the worst possible thing you can say to them. like why on earth would you think that calling me a bad person would make me any less likely to kill myself ??

My dad and his "What about the soldiers that died for you?" and "You haven't suffered as much as me" rambles. He knows I'm in quite a lot of pain, and he is right when he says that I probably don't appreciate as much as I should. I am aware of all that I do have, but I can't continue with this alone...

He never served btw.

About my childhood friend who CTB when he was 11: "well, he made a stupid decision."

Just cannot imagine calling an 11 yo who was bullied for being gay stupid after he took his own life. From my own dad, too.

if someone says i made a stupid decision . well the day after my "stupid decision" i won't have any problems , i won't have to pay bills, i won't have to work , or worry about a stupid to do list , or work a job or do chores, or be able to suffer unbearable pain. while all those that said i made a stupid decision will have to do all that garbage and risk extreme torture every day every day suffer and every day problems and get old and get tortured by old age a book more of things like that .... but i will be not existent unable to suffer not a slave . not existing won't be bad for me nor stupid as i wasn't existing for 13.8 billion years before i was born so was that stupid or bliss because i had no problems all that time.

but the "smart ones" that didn't make the "stupid decision" will be slaves thinking they are something special when they are just cells the same cells as in other animals a brain that creates an illusion of a self but a brain that can suffer unending constant unbearable pain that will die anyway

1 second after my brain dies i'll be not existing forever. only non-existence forever can guarantee never suffering so bad it's a trillion times worse than you can imagine. so eternal non-existence is the only perfection . what's stupid about never being able to suffer, never any pain , no problems no bad memories ever ? to me that doesn't sound stupid but the ultimate perfection the ultimate bliss permanent non-existence , non-existence forever the ultimate perfection

After a failed attempt in highschool my therapist told me I didn't really want to die if had I used the method I had chosen. She then went on to tell me about a cancer patient in the hospital who "actually" wanted to die who put a plasic bag over her head under a hat. Guess who went home and tried that one and felt like an even bigger failure when they couldn't make it work? And I definitely didn't tell her about that. I found out years later you have to basically take enough drugs to pass out for that one to work, so at least I feel less stupid now.

That it will all get better. Billions of lives do not get better and many will be honest with you and say their lives never did yet people who are uninformed, lazy and terrified of the truth of many people's lives will keep this lie on repeat.

"You'll go to hell if you commit suicide"
"How dare you took the easy way out"
