What's the most annoying thing about xmas to you?

Ik xmas is rough for many of you, and it is for me too, but what annoys you the most about the holidays?

I don't care much about christmas but I'd say that the thing which annoyed me back at school was the annoying christmas songs that they played. This made me wonder at how most people genuinely enjoyed things like this. To me, it felt like earrape. Another thing that annoys me which hasn't been mentioned in this poll is how busy places are during christmas. Last year my mum made me get some groceries on christmas day and, fuck, the queue was so long to where it spanned through an entire shopping aisle

I love christmas ! :D, but I got to admit the family gatherings during the holidays are pretty stressful to me. I feel like I got to be the best daughter I can be but sometimes it feels like its never enough. Thats my own fault though, my parents are good parents.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I actually like Christmas. Christmas has always been one of my favourite holidays when I was younger. Sadly, I don't get to celebrate as much as I used to due to my grandparents getting older and my grandmother's memory deteriorating. We used to go to their house every Christmas and would eat dinner there. The only bad Christmas I've ever had was the one I had last year and it was all my fault. Besides that one, most of my Christmases have either been good or neutral. I hope we are able to celebrate it at their place this year.

i don't like Christmas that much. holiday season affects me a lot. with seasonal depression added up, it sucks for me. i have trauma related to holidays because of family stuff.. so i don't get the joy other people feel when it comes. it's just like a normal time for me. but it's a big holiday celebrated by many people so you can't just ignore it then it gets annoying. this is a time where relapses of mine mostly occur as well because there are many triggers.

Gift giving. I despise surprises, so giving me a wrapped gift that will most likely be something I don't particularly enjoy feels like an insult. This goes both ways, too. The stress that arives from deciding a good gift for everyone I intend on gifting, the monetary costs, the hassle that is wrapping.
A perfect Christmas for me would have all gifts be either monetary transactions or passion projects made by the gift giver. Both extremes of the "give a fuck" spectrum, lmao

I wouldn't say so, it makes me happy to hear some are still able to enjoy it personally. After all, xmas is meant to be enjoyed. Wish I was able to enjoy it again like before, ngl.
I miss it tbh. Xmas used to be the one time of the year with some light in an otherwise dark everyday life, but now my depression has taken that away from me too.

Blinking Christmas decoration lights... I feel this need to stare at them, and I feel annoyed... blinking lights should only be used for warnings or when something needs urgent attention. I like it when the night is calm and serene, and those lights distract me from that...

I completely agree, unwanted gifts that I don't need and that only collect dust, or that I did not want and then somehow emotionally attached myself to and now can't throw away are another hassle. I'm trying to reduce clutter at the moment, my "life is too full already"...

I'm the only adult in a (very large) Asian family that hasn't finished college or currently attending. Every Christmas they ask this at the party. That's all I'm known for.

Otherwise, I actually love Christmas. Small gifts, gatherings, seeing people I wouldn't otherwise see, the music, the lights decorated around town. I actually love it all. It's just the college talk that makes me really uncomfortable.

I work in retail, yes they play every Christmas song known to man on repeat. But I work in an isolated section of the place where the music is very muffled so it doesn't bother me much.

I don't like the music and i hate new years because people talk about new years eve kiss and stuff like that. I have nobody, not even a friend. I think if i had normal things like that i wouldn't be as hateful. I only remember one x mas i enjoyed and that was when i was a kid and my dad bought me a wii.

I don't think there's something particularly annoying about xmas, especially given that this tradition is slowly dying in my family, we (me, brother and parents) just sit to eat something different and that's it lol

When I was a kid Xmas was always a time that I enjoyed. Even when I was older I enjoyed it. Luckily I live in a place where Xmas isn't celebrated like it is certain countries - it'll be pretty much like any other day here. That's good for me bc especially after I failed big in life there's nothing to enjoy about Xmas anymore. However, I admit, I'm gonna listen to the one or other Christmas Carol. But we won't celebrate it and I'm glad nobody is bothering me with Xmas stuff.
