I live right by them
My first attempt last May was this way. I waited on tracks under a bridge for a long time and got increasingly more scared as I waited. I eventually went home after 13 hours of nothing. You'd want the train to decapitate you or crush your head entirely. The faster it's going the better, obviously. It's pretty full-proof. The patience and ability lay in wait for a 3 ton locomotive to come barreling over you is the hard part. I underestimated how fucking scared I'd be.
I've seen people survive just standing and jumping in front of them, just to become helpless vegetables.

The best way is to choose another method. For your own sake, there is no guarantee that you would be killed instantly. Certainly, a train at speed would be a good candidate for a swift death, but there's every chance that you would merely be pulled under it and mangled.

Beyond that, however, thing of the people who would be affected. The driver of the train would potentially be traumatised by the experience, and a group of others would be left with the responsibility of cleaning up. Furthermore, when suicides happen, they cause chaos on the rail systems, with multiple trains held up and thousands of people discommoded.

We all here want to pass peacefully, and there is nothing peaceful about throwing oneself in front of a train. Please, choose another method.

I think the solution depends on what you want to achieve besides the CTB.

You could look for a railway company where the trains run autonomously to show consideration.

The classic position on the tracks is to lie down between the rails. Place your neck over a splint with your neck stretched wide and your face to one side. On the opposite Fix the position of the body on the opposite rail with foot pressure.

The fixation should prevent the body from being whirled up by the suction of the train.

At least in the US many trains have some form of plow in front, often called "cow catcher". They deflect anything in its path as to prevent damage to the locomotive and prevent derailments. Those sit very low to the track and chances are more likely for you to hit that first and get trampled than a clean cut to the neck. Regardless then end game would be the same.
