personally I was having a good day a great day even then I decided to use youtube while logged out and saw someone (a thumbnail) call a film I enjoy a "femcel movie"

I've seen other youtubers use clickbait titles like that for other films I enjoy in the past but in 2025 I thought people would stop doing that

usually the films they call that are usually just about mentally ill women or women who were physically or sexually abused by a man and either meet a bad or neutral fate or seek vengeance similar to or exactly like the horror or crime subgenre known as rape and revenge films

and whats funny that I just noticed is that they even call films that pass the Bechdel Test this (not that is something one should look for in every film or that its mandatory or important for what is considered a good or bad movie/a film rating)

If they said that about a film or comic/graphic novel I enjoy, Ghost World by Daniel Clowes I would understand

I'd much rather deal with the recent phenomenon of fujoshis who forget that the film and book Trainspotting is about a bunch of heroin addicts, they actually make me want to rewatch both films or read the book to see if theres something I missed

so yeah, what ragebait have you fallen for recently ? go into much detail as possible !

couldn't tell you, these days it's hard to know if someone's actively ragebaiting, just genuinely dumb or just an asshat

I haven't been rage baited recently, or ever really, I just tend to ignore someone if there being stupid or obnoxious, But I do regularly spend time reading things that tend to disagree with my personal views on things, simply just so that I can get angry at things I disagree with, it's stupid because I'm in a sense rage Baiting myself, but I just can't seem to help myself.

I feel the same. There were times when I would debate a topic with someone on the internet when a 3rd person enters the conversation with "you know he's baiting you, right?" And I have no idea whether that was truly the case, and how you would even know.

One time, someone dismissed me by claiming I'm rage-baiting others. I think rage-baiting is immature and further divides people, so naturally I don't bait people. And knowing that I'm serious about what I said, I felt like people would use the term to dismiss others' valid opinions for the sake of trying to win an argument. It's an insult.

The last online argument where someone seems to have rage-baited me was about his claim that "Nintendo doesn't get sales like PS and Xbox." And I was like "nuh-uh," wagging my finger, listing sources that compare game console sales and game sales. In his response, he moved the goalpost by saying "sales don't matter compared to how many people actually use the consoles." So in reply, I cited statistics on Nintendo's massive player base, comparing it to Sony and Microsoft numbers. And he dismissed all the figures with "yet PS and Xbox are the most common and most used console." Eventually, another person sided with me and wrote "yk he's trying to troll people?"

In the end, that little argument only fueled my frustrations. His defense was "it's true if I say it's true" and that also rubbed me the wrong way. I try to ignore needless arguments, often successfully so, giving my opinion only once and if they don't like it, so be it.
