The boy recommends a .22 calibur. Dubbed the "assassin round" by most, it will be strong enough to enter the cranium but not strong enough to exit. It will instead ricochet off of the would be exit point and cause even more damage. Survival rate at close range with one of these to the head is low.

Any large caliber rifle or 20 gauge shotgun will do the job, aim the gun at a 20 degree angle in your mouth like this.
