Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

I met quite some people in clinics. But SaSu isn't very known where I live. I think SN also isn't much known in my country. I never heard about a suicide with SN here maybe media is not reporting on it to avoid the Streisand effect. I could imagine some people I met in the acute suicidality clinic could knew this website. It was obvious to me not to mention this place in the clinic. So if I met other members in real life they might would also keep quiet in order prevent contagion.

If I define people I met very loosely I could imagine I met 5 people who are also visiting SaSu. I am not sure about the ratio members/lurker.
I think though that these people notice me is pretty unlikely. Just because I held a long insecure monologue in a clinic this doesn't mean they could recognize me.

I think the people who visit Sanctioned Suicide are in very precarious situations. And have different things on their minds. I could imagine the fact that I live a socioeconomic somewhat good life (as long as my parents can give me money) makes me more unlikely to meet SaSU members in real life. I could imagine the ones who are searching for SaSu are often at rock bottom. But I am not entirely sure. Maybe this would be a good thread idea. Most people are not using SaSu like me. I am posting on here daily threads (that noone reads - okay some of you are reading it I know that and thank your for that). But the usual cycle is: the people come here for methods. They spend time on here and feel that the media depiction isn't fair and how compassionate the community is. Some are still very determined to go through with their plan and commit suicide. Others are more ambivalent. Are clinging to life for whatever reason. But eventually they move on and leave this community. Mabye return if the circumstances become unbearable again. Many people on here said in order to heal they had to quit this forum. Personally, I just quit reading suicide discussion. And this helped me. I feel very comfortable on here because we can discuss in an uncensored way extremely stigmatized issues. And the people on here are pretty real and not fake like on most other plattforms.

When I think about SaSu members I thinkk about people in real extreme existential pain. On other hand, not all people in real existential pain find their way to Sanctioned Suicide. This forum is too niche for that at least where I live. I once met a very acute suicidal woman in a clinic. We often joked about suicide I was also in a very bad condition to that time. I was sort of paranoid I possibly found her on here. But I was wrong. The likelihood would have been extremely low anyway.

Whenever I'm sitting in my therapist's waiting room I wonder how many other clients are aware of/use Sasu.

No idea.

I know a few people locally with depression that tried to crash and failed.

It's hard to tell as most people wouldn't bring it up in conversation as it is too risky. So my neighbor could be on here for all I know.

Probably no one. Most people here who kill themselves do it via jumping or via train.

Maybe one or two and both of them were people I barely even met, was just in the proximity of. The closest I have been to people with mental health issued at all were classmates I hung out with that all never alluded to being suicidal at all.

There's seems to be a lot of people who are/were on here! so I have to guess I met or bumped into a couple people who are on here or lurk. I don't think any of those people I know personally though, a lot of the people around me are quite close-minded in many ways, and I couldn't picture them on these forums.
