I think in the anime Death Note you can make a deal. You can sacrifice the half of your remaining time on earth to get shinigami eyes. (with this exact power). What would happen in society if everyone had this ability?
Maybe people would get treated better? Would there be more justice? Or more judgement? Maybe one does not want to be associated with the one's who ctb? Maybe one would want to keep distant from the one's who die soon. Especially if it is a stranger.
For some it might mean better treatment. For example an elderely in a family. Or the opposite would happen? Well we don't have to visit grandma she still has 4 years to live - don't worry about her.
I think it is a really difficult what if question because it would mean major change in how society would treat death and maybe suicide.
