is there any real chance a new method similiar to SN which was at the beginning easy accessible for almost all people and less painful than many popular method will be discovered or are these times over for our community?
is it really back to to the brutal methods like hanging, jumping, train, and guns (for the ,,lucky'' ones that live in a country with access to guns..) ?
methods like scuba and the charcoal method are often times too complicated for people with cognitive impairments /brain damage which i know many people in this forum are affected by (me included).
the N era has come to its end and i feel like the many last remaining SN sources will be gone soon too.
yes maybe in the future there will be people selling it on the dark web but i know that border control now screens for SN like an illegal substance and people are getting wellness visits again.
it feels so hopeless and the only thing keeping me from losing it and ending up in the psych ward is the hope of the discovery of a new method.
i feel so delusional but there has to be something out there, right?

you gave me a little bit of new hope..
im researching everyday but im literally too stupid (cognitive impairments due to autism) for most methods
im not at a point where im ok with a certain amount of pain i just have to be sure that i will succeed at the end.
wish things were easier for all of us!

i've also thought that there must be a way to seperate the SN from regular curing salt - but i dont know if a layman with no lab would be able to successfully do this.. but i will search for your explanations - ty for sharing

I feel like this would be so hard, because your body will probably want to swim to the surface SO badly that it may be uncontrollable, same with swallowing water before unconsciousness. Obviously just my thoughts.

i also think that many will resort to hanging Philip Nitschkes inert gas sarco sounded so promising but the Swiss VAD organization terminated the cooperation and media claim it was only a PR scam …

N seems like the best method and SN seemed a little promising if SN wasn't so hard to source as well. Opiates are easy to get but I don't know if the method is a reliable way to CTB

This method will always be avaiable, even prisoners manage to partial with things like a towel or a drawcord. It's pretty reliable if you learn to do it right, but even if you fail the consequences are not nearly as desastrous as other popular methods.

I disagree about SN. It's my backup method.

However I do agree that fentanyl or M30s/illicit drugs cut with fen will get more attention.

Most other options are simply a logistical nightmare, especially if living with others.

Ever lugged a CO2 cylinder into a 4th floor apartment with roommates?

IMO hanging is still quite painful and so are the classic other methods.

So yes… a "how to" thread about how to find your local fentanyl dealer would be awesome!

Fentanyl requires injection into a vein, which can be painful; and even professionals can miss the vein. Too painful for me (I know, I'm a sissy.) However, can one just apply a bunch of patches? .

Helium is now in short supply around the world, and the helium in tanks supposed to inflate party balloons has now been diluted so that death is no longer guaranteed or even likely.

Fentanyl might be an insanely weird thing to get since you have no idea what you are buying, especially if one has no connections/experience. At least with SN you got it from companies which vouch for its quality and purity.

Afaik patches are designed to slow release the drug and that's why addicts have a method to draw out the drug or alternatively smoke patches? But I would look that up before randomly lighting up

I'm thinking more of oxy that is cut with fentanyl (or whatever junk). I believe they are called M30's and are fairly common, but you never know what you'll get off the street from a rando. So not too reliable.

Suicide methods are not a "trend" and people don't choose a method because it's "trendy" they usually just want an end to their suffering using any method available.

Well. That's your opinion.

Mine is that there are methods that rise and fall in trendiness. You have the classics that will always be around and then you have trends that come and go as they are available.

Just like drugs of the 80s, 90s are not what you find nowadays. Again - apart from the classics like cocaine or heroine. But even then the way how it's used changes.

And yes. In the end we are looking for relief and a way to end our suffering.

Not really. People like SN because it is reasonably peaceful (compared to most methods at least), accessible (though that's changing fast) and relatively easy to execute once you have the few things required.

All of the so-called "classic" methods have their own drawbacks.

No one takes SN because it's "trendy". Yes, that's my opinion and it also happens to be correct.
