Morning for me. My energy wanes throughout the day, and when night comes I'm not well enough to kill myself.
Same. I've only ever been able to attempt at night though because of my circumstances. I'm (unfortunately) very mentally alert at night, but physical fatigue sets in early for me.
Some nights I get up, walk out of the house with intent, and realise I absolutely do not have the strength to carry myself any more, and that the only reason I made it out of the house was willpower, and the moment I paused for breath the fatigue became too much. I have rehearsed a lot in this manner. I have revised my plans to require less walking at night, but it worries me.
Broadly speaking, though, night for almost all methods. For some people, it's definitely better to do it 'round the onset of the working day. And if you live alone and don't have neighbours close by or people checking up on you, you probably have the luxury of choosing. I'd go in the early morning if I could; once the day sets in, it feels so terribly heavy, far too bright. The sheer habit of living to distract oneself sets in. Where I live, night is too dark (impractically so outside without a light - great for living a peaceful life, though).
