I'd listen to this song while ctb'ing:

My interpretation of it is that there's what sounds like a baby crying (someone who's just entered life) and an ambulance siren (for someone who's just exited life)...if I was looking over my life the first question I would ask would by ``why?'' Why did small things x, y, and z happen that dramatically altered my life (both good and bad)? The main lyrics ``don't ask my why'' tell us there's no explanation, so don't ask--things happen for no reason. For some reason, I find this thought comforting, that there's no explanation and no reason for why things happen to us -- they're just random, and there's no deeper reason that we might search for.

It's as if someone has just died, and they're expecting to find out some deep underlying plan/set of reasons for seemingly-random stuff that happened to them.....and they find out there is none...don't ask me why. :) The message and melody are very calming and reassuring...

I also find that the picture of an old-timey small rocky mountain town adds to the feelings of calming, of comfort and of contemplation...and I feel like the voice in the background at around 3:26 that sounds like it is saying ``...no matter what'' is comforting..

Hopefully this wasn't too rambling and pretentious lmao.

If I was to go through with killing myself, I think I'd definitely make a playlist as music is really important to me. What song/s would be on your CTB playlist, or what song would you like to listen to as you go out of this world?? I haven't decided on mine yet, but interested to see what others would choose :)
Ordinary World, by Duran Duran.

The void has always been 'the' song for me. It seems fitting.

Such a beautiful song

Wow! I thought my musical tastes were broad and eclectic but I've never heard of the majority of music and bands listed here! Thanks all for giving me something to discover!

I didn't really think about this until a couple weeks ago, when I was listening to music with my mom.

"Opium" by Marcy Playground might be my #1 pick right now.

I've created a playlist for my last moment before CTB. There are several songs that I listened to when I was a child and teenager.

And the song for my funeral will be "Into the west"

I'm actually really glad this was asked..! I made an entire playlist made up of various songs describing the circumstances leading to my choice, a mid section filled with nostalgic songs, and ending with songs I find peaceful or especially nostalgic! I took a lot of time in crafting this, and I'm really happy how it came out.

I've done the same recently and feel the same!!! My flow is similar too. Listening to it now. 40 songs, 2 hours 50 min. Will probably tweak it. Fitting for a journey into the night. Smashing Pumpkins are my most common artist. Here's a pic of the ending.

edit: great picks in here thanks for sharing everyone
I haven't quite decided but i will certainly make a playlist.

Hurt, but the NIN version ... that will be on it.

Essential! I went with Johnny cash. My nirvana will be lake of fire

This is what my Username is named after. I would like to listen to this through headphones which I cannot currently do because of tinnitus and damaged ears. However it won't matter when I die.
