What should I watch out for with hanging?

I've tried hanging myself before and obviously failed, but what are some common mess-ups when hanging? My plan was this clearing in the woods that I like with a tree branch that's sturdy, and a rope noose—not too complicated. Thank you!

I have thought about this too. I guess the branch has to be high enough for the rope and you. The place I chose was too low and I could still stand. So I failed too. This is just miserable

If you are going full suspension then make sure the rope is rated for your weight, make sure the knot on your ligature is tight and that it wont slip, make sure you place the rope above adams apple (it will slide up anyways) and just relax. most people pass out within 10 seconds so worst case you will suffer some pain and panic for a few seconds but then its night night.

Hanging seems a quick method but I'd be too scared of failing and being left with a rather obvious red mark/bruising on my neck! So it's put me off that method. You might think it's a stupid reason not to choose that method?

I've heard some people suggest being drunk when doing it, though obviously not enough to inhibit the ability to set everything up correctly. Does this make chances of success worse, or simply make the experience numb?

From someone who has tried hanging multiple times but somehow found a new way each time to fuck it up: yeah, there's a mark that gets left. I'm just hoping that if I cover all my bases and get drunk, then I won't beef it too bad and will be able to actually get out of this finally. I wish you luck, too! There's hope in this, I believe.

How did you fuck it up? Do you have any advice on what not to do (so none of us will repeat your mistakes)?

This is EXACTLY what I did just 5 days ago, and I'm still in the hospital for it. If I had an extra 3 inches I would of succeeded.

It's previously been mentioned that this method is highly likely to result in the bowel expelling it's contents.
Not something that is a concern for everyone. But if it is, wearing protection would prevent it from being one of those niggling doubts.

Ahhh I am thinking the same, a tree with a view and possibly a sunrise/set. I know most use a ladder or chair but I don't know why but I really want to fall from the branch, just a gentle push off yanno? But wonder if this could be problematic.

@Kattt Yeah, was gonna fast but not gonna bother, since apparently can still have accidents soooooo will prolly have courage drinks / doobie, and if I have an appetite can indulge too. Don't wanna wear a nappy though, it's so cold, will definitely be layered up maybe it could hide it? Gross though, didn't think I'd have take this into consideration when planning this way!

I'm being treated pretty badly, but I'll be back home eventually. I will certainly try again, I just don't know exactly when.
