• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

This forum has over 48,500 members, how many do you think actually committed suicide in the end?

In my opinion 10% might be a good estimate, but maybe even less.

I was JUST wondering this last night and was going to ask. Am curious too. If there's a rough estimate? Don't care how rough. I'd say more like 15% but honestly, no idea.

10% is too much in my opinion.

I think it will only be a few percent.
It's very hard to say because we don't have reliable data.
Not everyone who leaves the site dies.
Not everyone does a goodbye thread either.

We could base this on the various farewell threads that happen almost every day, but maybe many people kill themselves without saying anything so it's really difficult to understand anything, and whoever opens a farewell thread might even fail; ultimately I don't know how reliable it is to rely on these threads.

The admins might have some way of coming up with a reasonable estimate. I'm not sure if they have any way to see the Reason an account was closed. The best data you would have would be goodbye threads and having the account closed and never coming back. Accounts get closed for all sorts of reasons though

I wonder if you can ever get an estimate that would be close to reality. When you say ultimately that means b4 they die natural causes or any other way. Everything here is just a blind guess. I would say over 15 percent because everyone here is considering it. My blind guess is 22 percent but we'll never know.

This forum has only existed for six years. There are people who joined at its inception who are still planning to commit suicide.

It should be made a requirement of membership - before you're allowed to leave the site, you have to complete a form stating your reason!
