Im more than a year jobless, and no perspective or desire of getting a decent job anymore.

Just have money for the funeral and thats all, so no much more time here until CTB which will be pretty soon. Thats fucking horrible.

Also too many debts but fortunately all debts will die with me ( i dont have heirs nor assets).

Are you unemployed and fucked up as well? How do you manage to live regarding financial situation?

I'm a blue collar worker in a high cost of living area (won't say exactly what I do for the sake of anonymity) and my job pays decently well even with the cost of living in mind. The only reason I'm still able to hold down a job at this time is because I'm so terrified of having to move back in with my parents that my drive to remain financially independent is stronger than my drive for literally anything else.

I don't have a current source of income. I'm a NEET and live off of my parents. I guess I earn interest off of the money in my bank account? I don't spend any money because I have no reason to. I don't have any costs or expenses. My parents want me to get a job and start making money though

I am back to work after being months off sick. I'm barely being productive each day, I'm a shell of the person I once were. I was a stellar worker, always praised by my peers and boss. Now I have to put a ton of effort just to do my tasks.

I'm able to save money, I'm well paid by my job. I wish my state of mind was as well as my financial situation.

I still work full time, except a brief layoff because of covid, I have worked since 1974, when I started out homeless and hungry. I am able to save money because I do not spend any except to travel.

I have a part time job where I only work 25 hours a week for $19.50 an hour. Sometimes on busy days they call me in to work full time shifts. I have a couple thousand dollars each in my savings and checking account but I spend a lot on monthly subscriptions to streaming services plus food and gas is also extremely expensive where I live. I plan to leave my job soon because of personal reasons though.

@sserafim with the amount of times you like to put out there that you're a NEET you should add it to your username or custom title.
Unfortunately then because you think you're gonna be alive beyond 25 you may need to give thought to what job you wanna get.

Fortunately due to mental and physical health problems I'm on disability allowance.

Are you in the US? What kind of mental and physical health problems, may I ask? How much is it? I'm not sure if mine (Asperger's aka autism level 1, ADHD, social anxiety) qualify for disability allowance but I guess it's worth a try…

@sserafim Same mental health conditions as you- autism, ADHD and possibly some BPD but it's more so for the physical health problems that I get mine as I'm vision impaired with sometimes fairly incapacitating nerve and muscle pain.
You might be able to get something but it depends if they'll accept that your conditions stop you from working plus I don't know the U.S system as I'm not from there.

I'm a fuck-up long-term NEET living off of taxpayers.
I know it's not good and I'm a burden on the taxpayer, but I'm honestly still struggling to go through with CTB; I need to die but I'm afraid of both the trauma involved and fucking it up.

If voluntary humane euthanasia was an option for me, I would've been dead years ago.

Sadly my country (UK) seems to want people alive at all costs, regardless of suffering.

Saving money is one of the only things I'm decent at, after working full time post graduation for 3 years I have good savings even despite renting an apartment in a city. I buy the cheapest groceries, and necessary products like toiletries only on sale. All my clothes are secondhand and I spend money on my hobbies pretty rarely, since I don't have the energy to do them anymore. My car is old and I work from home (making $24/hr) so I don't spend much on gas or repairs. My roommate and I split rent and bills 50/50. But things in the world are really tough financially, so no shame in fighting a losing battle. It sucks and I definitely acknowledge my privilege here.

If I can get all my ducks in a row and figure out a will for when I CTB, my family can use my savings to cover all funeral expenses and the rest can go in a fund for my future niece/nephew (sister-in-law is pregnant.)

Diamond-handing $GME baby!

But I'm also starting to make pretty decent money at my new firm. Should make a lot more next year if I don't fuck it up and if the economy hasn't collapsed.

I honestly don't know either. I know I'm very blessed living in a DINK house where we both do pretty well but even then we're not really able to save much. It has to be so hard, even if you're making above the median, on your own.

I've been out of a job for just over a year. I have cPTSD and every other disorder under the sun so I'll probably never be able to work a well paying job. I'll be living off government benefits for either most or the rest of my life which is a shitty feeling.

I rely in my parents for some rent and to help me pay most of my things, but uni, food, and extra pocket money are from my partial job.
My uni isn't expensive but I can find myself in a bit of a struggle between food and buying things.

At one point I was coping with my depression by spending all the money that I had and then some. I actually ended up getting myself tens of thousands of dollars in credit card debt. I worked 80 hours a week for over a year to pay it all off. Currently, I'm living well within my means, and I have a bunch of money that I'm saving every month, but it's because I'm no longer interested in anything, so I have nothing to spend money on.
When I was working to pay off my credit card debt, though, I lived like I had no money. I never ordered food. I never went out to eat. I didn't buy new clothes or shoes unless I absolutely had to. I watched my bills. I didn't go to the movies. I didn't buy games. I enjoyed what I had as it was already bought and paid for. On one hand it sucked because I was coming from using purchasing as a coping mechanism, but on the other hand it made me realize that I don't actually need a whole lot of physical stuff to be content.

also 🏴‍☠️ helps 😉

Your post really resonates with me. As at 18, I was kicked out by my "parents" and had no money and was homeless and hungry. I worked like crazy, saved and finally went to college.

One aspect that I was taught is that material stuff is just that stuff. Now at 68, I have saved and except for traveling to warmer climates, I live in a VERY cold city, I spend nothing no more.

You are a truly awesome person, your post sounded in some small ways like my life in the past also.

Lots of warm thoughts, lovely blue skies and the knowledge that you are such a wonderful soul.

You would need to get lots of medical records and notes from your doctor saying you can't work and why and then you would need to get a disabilty lawyer as you will be rejected probably a few times and wait to see a judge and explain to them why you can't work and it takes 2-3 years to be awarded and it only pays around 628-900$ ish a month since you have no work credits

I have an inheritance although it's not even close enough to live out my whole life. I also found a work from home job that pays alright and I can choose my hours. It's actually given me something to get out of bed for and distract myself at least.

Still drawing from my savings each month to pay bills.
