What is Your Biggest Regret in Life?

I regret not following my instincts decades ago and getting married to someone that has been abusing me and won't agree to a divorce.
I should have listened to those caution flags (if that's even possible!)

I don't think free will exists, everything that happens is influenced by forces outside of our control and will, including our own actions. I also don't regret anything in my life even though some of my actions contributed to my situation right now, because I still did my best, and I'm still doing my best.

Was it just stress? I had several things converge at the same time, one of which was stress. It was kind of a perfect storm and under the circumstances I don't think I could have avoided any of it.

It was just stress, but it was a huge spike of it, which caused a mini-stroke. This dramatically affected my ability to sleep deeply, and that causes all kinds of health problems.

It's excess fat that can trigger it. Happens to other animals as well, like if a cat get's too much fatty fish. Other causes are bile duct blockage and excess alcohol intake. Sometimes it just happens without any cause as well.

Nine years ago, a girl from my work asked for my number. She was clearly into me but when I started chatting with her she mentioned how she was just getting over her ex of one week. I said that's ok and that I was okay with just being her friend. What I SHOULD have said was that and that I also like her enough to want to be in a relationship with her whenever she's ready. Sure enough a couple months later, she was ready. But I didn't find out until it was too late and someone else swooped in. I have spent almost the entirety of my 20s hating myself for my mistake especially when I later found out from her own words that she said she wishes I had just been a little faster and she would have chosen me instead. That was the day I snapped. I may have unknowingly been evil before but after then I decided to willingly choose a path of spite, malice, and hatred. So many wasted years digging myself deeper and deeper into despair stemmed from this one moment of slowness. Even moving on to someone else about four years ago didn't help and neither did moving on to my current crush. It seems I'll always be doomed. I'm now a 30 year old virgin who's never even been on a single date. There's absolutely no hope for me and all because I was not fast enough.
