I thought of taking up paragliding but it is very expensive and over regulated where I live. I considered sailboarding, but that has its drawbacks too.

I'm actually thinking of hitting the poker circuit. However, the cheapest buy-ins I could find around me are about $30, and I don't want to risk that on a weekly basis. Besides, pokers players are guarded against one another, and it would be nice if there was a social dimension to whatever I took up, especially if it involved women.

So what hobbies do you have or have you considered taking up? What helps you occupy your free time?

My main hobby is art and customising dolls [my pfp]. I also love skiing but i haven't done it since the start of covid. My dream hobby would be playing the drums

If you want to turn guitar into more than a hobby, go to Clarksdale, Mississippi and learn the blues. In about a decade, that place is going to expand to a Nashville Tennessee status, but with blues instead of country. I did it professionally in Nash for seven years and stopped because I have a wife and kid now. If I were starting now, I'd go to Clarksdale while it's not oversaturated. As it stands, the place is basically Memphis Tennessee but without Memphis' crime problem and its touristy inauthenticity.

Would be great learning New technics there but thats not possible for me. I live in germany, currently studiyng at University and dont have Money šŸ˜…
The other problem is I cant play in front of people beside my Parents. I know I can play it acceptable enough that I could Do it professional (play it for 22 years) but would get a heartattack everytime I go up on a stage

You and I have opposite problems. The stage was one of the only places in life I felt in control, in the zone, and cared about, and I have had trouble coping with the loss of that career.

I can honestly say I have no hobbies anymore, beyond killing time behind a screen. It wasn't that way until fairly recently, but now all my interests have dried up. I'm just passing time and internalizing/agonizing.

My main hobbies are video games, binging shows, and wasting time on the internet.

When I'm driving I sometimes whip out my kazoo to play along to music I'm listening to but that's so cringe that I rarely show anyone.

Occasionally I doodle comics, write small poems, and draft short stories but this is only when I'm feeling especially bored and have a lot of free time.

When I'm not screwed over by brain fog, which is most of the time, my main hobby and also personal hell is writing. Honorable mentions to wasting money on dolls, all my time on the internet/questionable YouTube rabbitholes, breaking pencils when the urge to draw strikes, and obsessive fandom for a handful of franchises and bands.

I would like to paint, even badly, but it's too much of a mess to do it regularly. Same with doll customizing.
I don't have space nor resources to do many of the other things I would like to, but it is what it is.

I've thought about wanting to learn to play the bass, probably because of Wyatt Shears (I really love The Garden and Enjoy). I'm also interested in learning to make clothing. Learning to make clothing will allow me to reuse old clothing and fabric which is a huge plus in my books, especially with how rampant fast-fashion is at the moment. There are a lot of things I want to learn how to do but those two definitely top my list at the moment.

Otherwise, I don't have that many hobbies outside of drawing, which I'm bad at, lol.
