I wonder why there's a need to compare pains and sufferings?
Of course there will be different level of pains when you compare to others and within yourself. But that should be the only thing to compare, only with yourself.
Someone I knew said he's been fighting for 15years, so that invalidates my six plus years of suffering and misery? That I haven't suffered enough to say I want to die? I haven't earned it?
Yet others are quick to say well there are people in worse conditions, like people caught in war. Well yes, but if that's what you can say after I tell you my story then it's that bad? Where do you draw the line? I can easily say that my life is worse than celebrities. But it's not productive. We need to stop being competitive because we all have different life experiences and the cards dealt to us as well.
The only logical thing is reflect on your own life, surround yourself with compassionate people, try to find a few things that can light up enough to make you try a bit harder. But I know sometimes that's not even possible. So take it easy. It's okay. Be kind to yourself. Eat your favorite food, watch some happy shows, curl up under your blanket and cry. Don't let anyone invalidate your pain.
Person A's pain can be a solid 10.
Person B's pain can be 1+2+1+3+2+1=10. A gradual thing.
Meditating and coloring are therapeutic for some, like myself, as well as watching all the adorable kitty videos YouTube can throw at me.
