What happens when someone chokes you to death?

I was reading in the news that a 15-year old boy killed his 14-year old gf by choking her. Now I'm questioning myself what exactly happen if someone chokes you with both hands or kills you with a deadly headlock. Does it makes any difference and is it painful for the victim?

Not trying to split hairs here; however "Choking" is where your windpipe is compressed and you suffer respiratory failure. This can take minutes (or longer if the chokehold is incorrectly applied).
"Strangling" is technically where the compression is applied to the sides of the neck, resulting in the cutting off of the blood supply to the brain. Unconciousness can take place in seconds, death is fast.

I imagine it hurts and it's terrifying. Maybe depends on how quickly you pass out as to how bad it is but, bad I imagine.

Surely, their airflow is being restricted on top of the pain so- I imagine that would make someone panic too.

Why would you ask though? If you ask someone to do it to you- that's murder I imagine. If you want to do it to someone else- that's murder too.

I wonder if it's a gender thing. It's pretty much always guys who strangle women. Not sure I've ever heard of a case the other way around. Not to say there's never been a case.

Yeah, that's crazy.. That's why I thought about it because it happens so often, especially as relationship crime.

Except presumably, the person didn't want to die I suppose. Maybe the person doing it didn't mean to go that far. Could be a sex act gone wrong I guess in some cases. Suspicious though.

In others though, I'm sure it's domestic abuse in its most extreme form.

Yes. An ex almost choked me out, he used both hands, and his body weight, pinned me to the sofa, I couldn't breathe. I was trying so hard to get him off me but wouldn't, then I started seeing black spots so presumably I was about to pass out. It was fucking agony.

The worst way to be murdered (except having your throat cut) it is fucking brutal and isn't quick. This is the most common way a partner is murdered.

Many claim it was a sex game went wrong. Nah, it wasn't. Abusers are always coercive and make that person be choked during sex, and then claim a sex game went wrong - or the other way round. This is never ever true. All fucking lies

Well, it depends on the situation and how it is done, how pressure is applied and how long.
Pure choking might be rough for the minutes it takes with you thrashing around.
Sex must be a good addition. They seem to just die according to the criminal cases. Oops!
There are choke-out videos out there. They seem to pass out fairly quickly.
