What happens if you let SN dissolve in your mouth?

What would happen if you let sodium nitrite dissolve in your mouth? I'm curious—what would happen if you took a few grams (which is supposedly a lethal dose) and placed it under your tongue to let it dissolve? Or would it burn your mucous membranes?

I was wondering if you could do it this way: if you vomit the first time, just let it dissolve in your mouth the second time.

I'm not sure it would. I wouldn't even try it.

There was a member that supposedly did that (swallowed undiluted SN). For some reason when SN is taken in that manner, it slows absorption by a great deal. She still felt the symptoms of SN poisoning, but in a very delayed way, and she was later found and rescued. If I remember correctly she collapsed inside a car or a parking lot.
