The grade does not necessarily matter. It is the purity that you need to look at. You need 95% purity or higher.

Correct. Grade refers to the impurities that are allowed to be in the chemical. For some things like highly sensitive chemical experiments, even if the impurities are 1%, certain impurities will ruin experiments. So you have to buy a certain grade of chemical to make sure that those impurities are not in there.
However, for a suicide attempt, it does not matter what that extra 5% of impurities consists of.
