Also, where do people find beams high enough to do a long drop other than tree branches? The ceiling in both my basement and garage are too low and there's no wooded areas anywhere near me. There is a single tall spruce on the front lawn with no low growth that would be perfect if it weren't so out in the open for my neighbours to see. I don't want to hang myself outside and traumatize a random person. I'd rather have my family find me. Can an anterior knot really increase chances of cervical fracture? And what about adding weights to oneself to lower the threshold (drop length) for cervical fracture? I bought 3/8" (or ~1cm) thick heavy duty rope to do the job. I'm aware the thinner you go the better as long as it's still strong enough to hold you up but this is the best I could do.
