i feel like i only ever hear about npd from the viewpoint of people who know someone with it
but what's the perspective of people who actually have it themselves?

imagine feeling like youre 3 years old in terms of emotional maturity, while everyone around you is normal. It feels like youre in your terrible twos forever. When there are brief moments of meta cognition, you realize you dont have a soul like others do. You only care about yourself, you dont take accountability for anything, are always childish, jealous, vindictive, etc. But those thoughtful moments pass, and your natural tendencies take over and you continue to do the fucked up shit that makes everyone hate you. wash rinse and repeat until death.
