I'm positive I'd die a slow agonizing death from COPD or cancer.

Found out I was a cystic fibrosis carrier, which is extremely rare among folks of my race. Yay, lucky me. :meh: Most carriers are asymptomatic and one normal CF gene is enough for them. BUT a minority of carriers get a "lighter" version of CF, and I'm one of them. Yay, lucky me again. -_- I don't need O2 tank but have very stubborn chronic bronchitis. Cough all the time with phlegm; don't absorb nutrients well. The only plus side: I don't gain weight in spite of a good appetite so I can binge on any food I want and stay in shape.

As for cancer, I used to eat mostly organic food; but now I eat whatever I want. A big portion of that is processed food, BBQ meat, sugary snacks - carcinogenic junk food. Well, it is a fact that healthy food usually doesn't taste good.

I always wonder this and like to think that maybe I'd die from doing some sort of extreme sport. I've always wanted to go windsuiting - if that's even the correct verb. I think more realistically I'd die of old age.

In terms of your cystic fibrosis, I never knew that there was a "lighter" version. Shit diagnosis and I feel for you. I didn't know that there were certain races or ethnicities that were less likely to get it. Just enjoy the bright side :heh:.

Cancer, heart issues, or complications from like any of those (i.e. breathing issues) or Parkinson as it's a flip of coin if I have it. As literally that's what everyone in my family has died from, and none of it was a good or peaceful death.... Except one... as he had kidney dialysis after a fall as a result from Parkinson's issue, that caused it to be discovered, and he decided "screw this" and stopped it, allowing himself a quick basically painless (i.e. as much pain meds as he wanted) death.

The natural risks for people with my illness are primarily organ failure and heart disease.

My bet is on cancer though.

Recently I've settled on dying fighting with raiders for food in a post-collapse world. But I have heart issues, and my smoking habit isn't helping, so probably cardiac arrest, stroke and cancer in 2nd, 3rd and 4th places, respectively.

Seizure in my sleep (SUDEP) or my liver completely failing. Or I could die during my liver surgery, which would suck but atleast I would already be out. Also I've always had a weird premonition I'd get hit by an ice cream or taco truck, but that's probably because I want tacos all the time.

It wouldn't be a good painless death that's for sure, seeing as this world is about to end in the next 10-20 years.

I'd say probably homelessness and the dangers that come with it. I'm currently a NEET (Not in Education, Employed, Training), so I know that whenever my parents' decide to pull the rug from under me, rescind support, and/or other stuff happens, then it's likely I'll die from that instead. If not for those (assuming I found a stable job, lived enough to get by), then it's likely health reasons and old age.

Lol is it wrong to hit like? I'm stealing the gif BTW.

The natural progression of my illness is bowel obstruction causing rupture and sepsis. Plus urinary retention and rupture with the same effect. If I live long enough and manage the horrific insomnia, then I dread to think of my situation.

But on the plus side I swore blue at the bank staff over the phone today.

Unless I get hit by a bus or something, the most likely thing that would happen is my thyroid will become so non-functional that I go into a coma. At that point, I've read that the healthcare professionals have a dilemma because if they give you enough thyroid hormone to make your thyroid function enough to wake you up, it's also a dose that is high enough to kill you, but if they don't bring you out of the coma you die from that. So hopefully either way I would die. Of course, that could take years, or even decades, to happen thanks to the fact that I started taking a natural thyroid drug in 2010. I was pretty close to death at that point and, if I hadn't gotten any more medicine, I'd probably be dead right now. Unfortunately the doctor put me on a natural thyroid drug and while it doesn't help me function very well, it did slow down the deterioration of my thyroid. Slowed it down, but didn't stop it.

I've also been told by doctors though that I have high cholesterol, another side effect of low thyroid. So maybe I would die of something heart related. My father had heart issues, so maybe it would be something like that. Maybe I'd just have a heart attack. If that were the case, I would hope I did it when I was home alone and there were no nosey do-gooders around to save me!

First I thought the demon drink would do the job before I hit 20, it didn't, not through want of trying. Then I thought drugs would do it by the time I was 25, they didn't, I just lost 3 years of my life as I have little recollection of it. Then I thought driving like a lunatic would surely do it before I managed 30, wrong again. A few near misses, a few bumps and scrapes, a argument with a 16 wheeler and still here to tell the tale.

Survived Ami OD, just ended up comatose for a week and bad headaches for months afterwards. Survived oxygen starvation, just murdered a few billion brain cells. Survived a little virus's attempt at making me a vegetable, just ended up disabled with a few other little nasties.

Jean4 calls me superman, so if anyone has kryptonite, I am interested if the price is tight

I've got a better character for ya - Catwoman. Coz you're a woman and you seem to have 9 lives. After counting your survival stories, I believe you still have 3 lives left.

I don't have kryptonite, but I bet I can find you a tight black Catwoman costume, which can certainly be used on different occasions.

PS, What do Catwoman and Batman have in common? They can both transmit coronavirus via the fecal-oral route. Don't know if you catch my drift.

Apart from the fact that bits and bobs no longer work, last time I looked, I was still a man, apart from the third Saturday of the month when its group night.

Now why would I delete anything posted by you, I thought that was your job?

heart problems or some sort of disease or a car accident. that's been something i've had some sort of strong feeling regarding how i'd die for a while now, i just feel it somehow. and i've had dreams of dying in a car accident since i was younger, so could be that as well.

but all of these would come later in life, and i probably won't wanna stick around for that long.

You're a man? Hmm, I always got the impression you were a woman. Well, a man can have a woman inside. PS, both female cats and male cats have 9 lives. Nice save, a pat on my own back.

When I get too smug about a post, I let it stay there a bit longer. Sometimes miss the time window of self-censorship, then it becomes your job to delete it. But even more often, you jump into action too quickly before I get a chance to self censor. I've also developed the superpower of moving a thread in between the sections hehehe.

Breast or ovarian cancer. Already had breast cancer, and it was super aggressive. I tested positive for the BRCA2 gene, so I am pretty convinced it's just a matter of time before either it comes back or my ovaries join the party. I was strongly encouraged to remove them and didn't against doctor's orders, so... just waiting for it. :aw:
