Let's assume consciousness continues after death. Which "you" would continue? Let's say someone died when they were 2 years old. Does that mean that they would continue as the consciousness of a 2 year old with little to no understanding of the world. They wouldn't even be able to survive on earth alone. What about if someone died when they were 98 with Alzheimer's? Would they continue with their disability or magically return back to their 32 year old self after death? What if someone was born with a mental disability? Would they continue on forever with that disability? How about fetuses and embryos? Those are also lives. At what point in the spectrum of life does consciousness begin and continue after death?
