• Hello Guest,

We will not be following or complying with the Online Safety Bill that was recently signed into law in the UK. This bill will not affect the operations of the site, nor do we have a presence in the UK to receive notice or fines that the UK Government may impose.

We would highly recommend that all users from the UK get some sort of VPN, and you should petition your lawmakers to let them know how you feel about this piece of draconian legislation.

Best life ever, no worries other than which toys you get to play with and if your owners are staying away from you. You can be so intimidating at times by scratching them and asserting all power in the house. Amazing life but I’d still rather be dead.
Ikr! I wish I could've been a cat, they have such carefree lives. They don't have to worry about anything, they don't have to work for a living or have a job just to survive. They don't have to pay bills or rent, their existence costs nothing. I hate the fact that us humans have to pay to exist in this world. Cats don't have to fit into society either. They can just simply exist

Hello, interesting topic!
I adore my freshwater pets. My shrimp are fantastic, and I like taking care of them. They are so peaceful and communal. They look pretty, and I like watching them swim.

If I can wish for it, I do hope I am reincarnated as a freshwater shrimp. I would like it if someone admired me and created a nice habitat and watched me and my shrimp peers co-exist together.

i understand your point, but i do feel the need to say most smaller animals (if you can really even call them that tbh, i think of mammals when i think 'animal') detect pain, not feel it. human brains are the only ones capable of processing emotional trauma as well as we do. worms don't have debilitating OCD, i don't think.. so i believe there's a better choice here than just nothing. people who give me that answer have my hopes and prayers, but worms don't have to worry about shit. be a worm or something, you little rebels.

i feel this exact way, but probably for a different reason. growing up with autism meant i had to learn the world first hand for just about everything, and there's a lot of human traditions and norms that i STILL don't understand. i am NOT a human that was properly integrated into this society. however, with how much research i've DONE on cats, part of me believes i definitely was one, or supposed to be one. small and safe, but readily able to protect itself if need be. loved by most, and even stray cats have lives full of adventure that isn't possible for most people. cats have it the best.

be a jellyfish! boy they really have nothing to worry about, even if they wanted to!
Same, I get you. I’m neurodivergent as well (I have adhd and I’m also on the spectrum). Basically I have audhd lol… I wasn’t properly integrated into society either and I’ve always struggled to find my place in the world. I don’t fit in anywhere and I’ve always felt like an outsider.

I just don’t belong in society, it isn’t a good fit for me or people like me, but sadly I’m forced to participate because I can’t survive without it. I hate the fact that my survival depends on society, which wasn’t built for people like me and which has done nothing but ostracize and outcast us. I will never fit in no matter how much I try. I’m basically an alien on this planet, forced to find my way without a map.

Ikr! Humans and their traditions and social norms are plain weird, I don’t understand them either. I feel like everyone else was given a rule book and I wasn’t made aware of these rules

Ugh, I really wish I could’ve been a cat in this life. Their lives seem dope

You identify yourself via the memories you have about your past and your knowledge about the world. Once you lose all these memories, your main identity becomes lost as well. This may happen even in case if you keep living, but your brain somehow becomes damaged in a way that results in amnesia.

So what does it mean to reincarnate as someone else? If you don't preserve your memories, what is the connection between the older yourself and the newer yourself? And, even if we assume that some connection really exists, what exactly does constitute its importance, if your new "instance" can't associate itself with the older one via memories?

IMHO, soul is a useless notion. Your memories is the only thing that matters. When you lose your memories, you cease to exist.
okay, but what animal would you wanna be if you could choose? lol i think cats are great i'd be a cat

Being born again with the knowledge and experience I have at this point would be the dream.

the idea behind reincarnation is that because i haven't done anything good in life i'm probably going to be reincarnated as some bug or farm animal and have this cycle for countless generations before i'm 'lucky' enough to be a human again, so i truly hope it doesn't exist. anyways, i hope i'm a free tiger and live a life of thrill.

human lives are full of inherent suffering, for our brains are too complex for their own good. so, when you die, what would you rather be reborn as? sorry the title doesn't really apply to everyone.

if you're looking for a starting answer, i would be a cat! most people would pick something that could fly or something strong, but honestly i love cats too much to pass up. i want to be a kitten with other kitty friends and we all play and have fun and prance through flower fields. i hope that's what the afterlife is like, if there is one. i think another sufficient answer would be a blue whale, or something at the bottom of the ocean. i know it's dark as hell down there, but the pressure of the water is very comforting to me! i would love to just float and watch, and know that when i die, the ecosystem will thrive much more than if i was alive.
hey guys! i really appreciate your responses, i'm glad to give you something minimal and fun to think about! if you're reading this and are about to post, PLEASE do not reply with 'nothing', 'reincarnation isn't real', 'i don't wanna be reincarnated', etc. there's enough of those responses and they're honestly no fun. talk to me about animals and enjoy urself! thank you 🫶

I hope I don't get reincarnated but if I had to be, I'd want to be something that isn't sentient like a rock or something so my consciousness isn't there

I think, I will reincarnate as just a bunch of worms and bacteria. This is the most probable outcome.

Same, I wish I had the option to relive/redo my life knowing how it would end up. I wish I had knowledge of how it would go so I could’ve made different choices

I don't believe in that stuff, but hypothetically if there was another life after death, I'd like to live the very most peaceful life I could ever imagine. Maybe an organism in the deep dark sea, or anywhere away from human population. Maybe a plant even, like one of those protected by law in very isolate areas. I'm not fond of reliving as a human. One life is already more than enough.

I dont actually know If I want to live another life. The way life operate is brutal for me and I am just weak to accept that. If we can decide after we die than I am considering this option but if I had to choose I would choose human again, another chance, would like to have a healthy body and be a male. I just want same opportunity as normal people. But in fact reincarnation scares me, what If I die and I cant choose what I want to be and I will be something like a bug that will die quickly and then another life and another just cycle od death and dying and in this sick world where we humans are just extracting everything from nature and animals and we mostly dont care or willignly ignore their suffering? Nah Human or nothing are best options.
