Hello,

I know this question may sound weird, but how do you deal with eating? Do you cook for yourself or you live with your parents and they make food for you or you're eating out? How much importance do you put into what do you eat? May I know what do you eat most of the time?

I rarely ever cook but I'm trying to get back into it. Start learning how to cook new foods even. I mostly survive on microwavable foods because of how quick and convenient it can be.

Welcome to the forum too by the way.

I barely take care of myself at all. If left to my own devices it's pizza and chocolate until I run out and then I starve until my girlfriend comes to rescue me. Lucky girl

i have a pretty hard time taking care of myself. i still live with my parents but didn't last semester. back then, i had difficulty getting food and ended up going to the vending machine every morning to feed myself before sleeping until 5pm. i wasted sooo much money on my meal plan... ugh.

Whatever is in the house. I used to eat healthily, lots of veg and meat, rice, fruit etc. But now I eat what I want, binging a lot on chocolate and cake. When I do cook its basic pasta meals.

I like to cook, but it's getting too hard for me to manage without help. I'm a pescatarian and have a pretty healthy diet that includes desserts (the opposite of stressed!).

I use to eat a lot of fastfood when I was working..These days Im eating whatever I get in the food boxes from local churches and food pantries. That and the charity of a neighbor.Been throwing together and cooking some interesting meals..Hopefully get approved for food stamps come Monday. Then I can at least have more of a choice until I can find some work..Yeah,my diet is pretty much shit right now.

I still consider myself blessed.Could always be worse.

When I could I used to try making a lot of different things. Now it's mostly junk food and TV dinners. If I even eat in the first place.

What ever is in the house, but I do go for sushi and sashimi or to good restaurants, but then I drink cocktails and come home and sleep and feel super down and depressed.

I live alone so I cook my food every two days and keep it in the fridge for the next day. I mainly cook Indian currys. If I have a bad week I don't cook anything and order food online mostly.

I can't bother to put much effort into making food. I buy groceries that I can eat directly or just throw into the microwave or oven.

My mom cooks for me. My parents are very traditional. I'm certain if I was born a girl my mom would have actually forced me to learn how to cook. I think this is a problem our generation has in general. Growing up under traditional parents many boys have 0 cooking skills.

I cook for myself almost everyday. Im not very good for now so I stick to basic stuff like pasta and lots of potato related stuff mixed with frozen veg and meat.
Sometimes I try out new recipes. Yea cooking is annoying most of time but it can quite effectively distract you for some time and you can cook for 2-3 days so you dont have to do anything the next days :)

I don't even have a microwave, so reheating junk food is not an option for me.
As far as possible I try to cook fresh meals , pretty simple stuff like pasta, couscous, rice and so on but this is quite okay for a vegetarian.
By the way it is both fairly health and cheap.
Mostly I prepare the meals for the next 2-3 days, so I can reduce the effort .
Balanced and regularely diet is one of the few things I can delight in...

I'll cook if I'm feeling well but when my mood is either elevated or depressed I lost my appetite and motivation to cook. At the moment I'm living on diet shakes and canned soup, at least I'm losing weight!!

I have a question. How do you deal with cooking meat? I would like to cook for myself, but my OCD goes crazy when I have to deal with cooking raw meat. I've read too much on the internet about meat bacteria, contamination etc. Everytime I try to fight my weakness and cook meat, I always end up throwing all out because I'm scared that I will get sick from it and that there are bacteria everywhere so I have to clean the whole kitchen. So now when I cook I cook only plain pasta with potato sauce or something like this but I've been getting tired of it and started eating out and ordering meat-based stuff. But I still would like to try to cook my own meals because it's cheaper and healthier. But god damn I'm so scared of doing it and because of that I've got eating disorder.

I cook fresh meat most days, Motoko and none of us ever had any kind of food poisoning. I enjoy nothing more than dropping into the lical supermarket and grabbing meat from the 'oh my God, it goes out of date in 2 hours' section of the fridges much to my sons chagrin lol (have to unpack it and place it in a dish in the fridge so he doesn't see the flash sticker or I get the whole 'Mum, you're gonna kill us all one day' speech.) I even leave it in the fridge for a few days sometimes or toss it in the freezer but we're all alive and kicking. We do need bacteria -both good and bad- to build our immunity to the worse ones so get that meat, pick a recipe and give yourself a nice protein shot x
